Hi I'm Vanessa

I am originally from Brazil and a convert to the Church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very energetic person, very active and consider myself healthy. I like to participate in triathlons and training for them is the best part! I also love animals (have a dog, a lab named Scout) but my passion are horses. I love spending time with them, cleaning my friend's stalls, brushing them, getting to know them. I try to ride every Saturday and love doing so!!!! I love spending quality time with my kids, playing sports and also teaching them about reading. I love my husband and get to work with him some times which is a blessing.... we spend A LOT of time together!!! I only work part time so I love taking care of my little one at home....while my other two are at school.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church soon after I got married. My husband is born and raised in the Church and always taught me about it's principles (we shared the love for Our Savior since the first date, and figured out the rest would come!). I took my time researching and following my heart. Had all the discussions with the missionaries and couldn't deny the Spirit. I have a testimony of how much this Church is centered in Family, and how the Goodness and Benevolence in it's members has helped my life and my family. My children know and love Jesus Christ and are getting to know all of the wonderful principles of this gospel. I joined the Church because I coulnd't deny the Spirit in it, and I wanted my family to have a unity, something we could share and joining I became very active in my choice. The people in our Ward are like family to me.

How I live my faith

My family goes to Church every Sunday. I work with the Young Women there and it has been a wonderful experience. My group of girls are ages between 12, 13 and they are such incredible little ladies. They are so smart and their generous heart can be felt in every lesson. I am humbled to be teaching them, because I feel they have so much to teach me!!! We also have a weekly meeting called "Mutual" and get to do fun, wholesome activities! They get to learn so much, so much for their futures- besides having a great time! I live my faith also visiting my Sisters in the Church, once a month,( called Visiting Teaching) and it really makes me feel good checking up upon my friends, making sure they are doing ok!!! I love helping also my neighbours and friends, and I feel that's how I best show my love for the Lord, helping anyone in need.
