Hi I'm Lina

I am going to be a missionary and have put myself in the hands of the Lord. I have enough faith in Him to know that this is right.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so excited to serve the people of South Korea however I can. I attended Brigham Young University for one year with an undecided major. I love sports, tennis especially where I have both played and coached. My friends and my family mean the world to me. This makes being a missionary and being away from them so difficult, but I know I am doing what the Lord needs me to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My dad was born into the church and my mom was converted when they got married. I have always had questions about what aspects of the church were true or not, but when it came down to it, I cannot deny what I know. I know that Heavenly Father answers my prayers. I know that I have felt comfort when I have prayed in times of sadness. I know that the Book of Mormon supports the Bible in every way and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that without the inspiration of the Lord, Joseph Smith could not have translated the Book of Mormon to what it is. Similarly, I know that a young man with a second grade education could not have "written" or "came up with" the Book of Mormon, which has ties and connections to Jerusalem that we did not know when the book was published. I know that all of the principles and "rules" that we have in the church are set of a reason and, though the reasons are not specifically expressed, we are advised to ponder and search out reasons for ourselves. I know these things, and knowing these things and living them in my life make me a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of Jesus Christ. I try to do what He did and follow in His footsteps. I don't try to do this for personal attention, but to share with others the love I have felt through Christ. Being a missionary is a commitment to be an advocate of and to Christ. Missionaries are sent all around the world to teach people about the gospel and to serve those people as Christ served those he taught. We don't force beliefs onto people, we simply share what we know and help others to know for themselves. I live my faith by trying to come closer to Jesus Christ by following His example.
