Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, but have lived in many states. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a food scientist in Research and Development for a large consumer foods company. I have a family, although my children are grown and on their own. I enjoy learning about history and have visited all 50 states.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I learned about the Church while I was growing up. However, I have come to know for myself that what the Church teaches is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Lord has watched over me and helped me in my life. Through His Spirit, I have felt His love and care for me personally. I have also seen His blessings change others' lives for the better. As I have served others, I have found happiness and an inner peace that comes when you know that you are doing something good. I have come to know that He speaks to us today through a living prophet and that He restored His true, original Church in these last days.

How I live my faith

I have been a part of the community when I was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America. It was a great learning experience for me to gain the skills I needed to be able to teach the scouting boys and help them to progress in character and achievements. Currently, I am serving in a Young Single Adult ward of the Church. It is a privilege to help these young people at this time in their lives. They are making decisions about education, marriage and careers. We have a wonderful program with many activities such as: spiritual meetings/classes, weekly get-togethers, service opportunities, barbeques/dinners, dances, parties, etc. I am able to direct many of these activities and find that these young singles have many talents and can contribute much to each other and the community. I always feel younger when I am with them and have much hope for the future when I see all that they accomplish.
