Hi I'm Marcie

I am a classically trained singer and an experienced actor. I play the piano and the cello. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I am Marcie and I am currently a high school student. I am a Junior and already excited to graduate and go to college! I am pursuing to start a career in professional acting/modeling and let me tell you, it is really hard. It is not something that is not easy in any way, shape, or form but I am not going to give up anytime soon. I am a classically trained singer and still in the process of improving my voice. I also play cello, take piano lessons and learning to tap dance! Life is busy, but unbelievably fun! Not to mention those A.P. classes! But it helps that I love school and learning about things I am interested in.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know in my heart that it is true. I grew up in the church and was taught from an early age the things that are true. But please don't think that I do not have a conversion story. There was a time in my life where I forgot many of the things I was taught at an early age and I had to relearn them for myself. I have made many mistakes and regret them, but I have had personal experience on the process of repentance. It changed me and helped me grow as a person and I can not begin to explain the love I felt from my Heavenly Father. I just had the privilege of receiving my Patriarchal blessing. That was something that truly touched my heart and increased my faith in the powers of the Lord. For a few years now I have been personally learning the truth of the gospel by simply following the commandments and finding out for myself if it is true. And I can testify that it is true. This church is true and I will fight to defend it with the Lord by my side. I hope that all of Heavenly Father's children will find a way to return to Him someday. I am so thankful for my family and for the knowledge that I have to know that after they die and after I die, it will not be the end. I will be able to see them again. I love this Gospel. It has literally made me who I am and it helps me through the hard times at school and anywhere else. I know the priesthood is true. I love our Father in Heaven and I hope that my testimony can help someone out there who might be struggling. The Lord will NEVER leave you alone. He is always with you and if you need Him, pray; He will hear you.

How I live my faith

I am helping with the 16-18 year old young women in the Church. It is a great experience. They are my peers and I want to help them with anything they may need. I love to help people and am very thankful for the opportunity I have. When I am at school, it is so hard to uphold my standards. There are so many inappropriate words, gestures, thoughts, and feelings. It is something that I have to consciously be aware of. I try my hardest to avoid them and it helps to start my day with my seminary class. I also participate in school shows. Thespians can be a little too comfortable with each other. It is hard to tell people that yes, I love to do theater, but I don't like to participate in the inappropriate things that go on. I have to stay firm and strong, but I know that if I keep the Lord in my thoughts, it will be easier to take on the environment that I am surrounded in. It is always easier for me if I pray silently in my mind to ask for the Lord to be with me so I can stay strong when something is awkward or difficult.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Marcie
Joseph Smith was the founder of the Mormon church. When Joseph Smith was only 14 years old, he was very curious on which church was true. He was reading the in Bible and read James 1:5 "...if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God". And so Joseph went into a grove in the forest and prayed. As he started to pray, a dark and evil power came over him. It was Satan and he did not want Joseph to pray, but Joseph stayed strong. Then, a light descended from above that was brighter than the noon day sun. And then appeared two personages. One pointed to the other and said, "Joseph, this is my beloved son. Hear him." Jesus Christ then began to tell Joseph that none of the churches on the earth at the time were true and that he should join none of them. The Lord then began to explain to Joseph that He wanted him to build up a church in His name. It was to be the Church of Jesus Christ (hence the name of our church). And so through faith and willingness, Joseph was able to build and organize the Lord's church. He became a prophet just like Moses, Isaiah, and many others in the Bible. When he was 17, Joseph began to receive messengers from heaven who helped him prepare for his role as a prophet in the restoration of the church to the earth. Show more Show less
