Hi I'm Trisha Alder

I was born an raised in southern california, near Disneyland. I,m a mother of 3, an a hygienist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dental hygienist. I work full time and have 3 children. I have been married for the second time only a short while and have 3 grown step children as well. We all love going to the lake, playing games and just visiting after family dinners.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons, but as a young girl in Catholic school I had many questions about religion which were never answerwed in school. We studied a lot about the time Christ spent here on the Earth and what he taught. But I never learned why I was here, or where I was going after I died. Qestions I had often thought about. As I began to learn of the Mormon Church, I saw the parallel of the church Christ organized and the Moromon Church. I studied more about the church and loved how important the family unit was because growing up and even now my family is so important to me. My mother being HIspanic, has left many fond memories of big family gathers with lots of authentic foods. Family was the most important constant in the crazy changing world around me. I wanted the same for my own children. I joined the church at the age of 19 hoping to give my children the same old fashion values my parents gave me. I am now 46 and the only Mormon in my family, but still they are my favorite part of my life. I have 3 children that I hope will carry on these old fashion family values thanks to the guidence we get from the Mormon Church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith as I love the Young women in my area. I teach them and spend time with them during weekly activities. As I watch the young women struggle with the normal problems youth encounter, I wish I could take it all away and show them how special they are and of their great potiental. Every young lady sees ads daily of skinny flauless models and thinks they are not good enough, not pretty enough, tall enough or smart enough. When in truth they are all perfection! If i can help one young person believe this my service in the church has been worth it. As I work each day I clean teeth. Some say that is boring day after day, but the people I meet and their stories and struggles make my day so exciting. I don't think my patients know how I love to hear their stories. I thank them men and women who served for our country, cuz their stories are about sacrafice. The sweet lady that cried in my chair after finding out she had cancer, the patient I called after her heart surgy, the sweet lonley elderly lady I drove home from her appointment so we could stop and buy milk and fruit, or the 54 years old man that never had his teeth cleaned out of fear who no longer has fears an comes regularly with no fears. I love serving others, and wish I could serve in small countries where there is little dental care to the people.
