Hi I'm Becca

I am a student, I am a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Spain. But, before my mission, I was a college student. I am studying Physics with a Spanish minor. Physics interests me because of the logic and how it explains relationships in the world we live in. I have developed a great love for the Spanish language and culture and would love to live outside of the United States after I finish school. I am also a musician; I play the trumpet and the piano and I just adore anything to do with music! I was very involved in band in high school and hope to find opportunities to continue to share my talents with others. I love life and more importantly, I love this gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to "goodly parents" who chose to raise me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They taught me and my sisters from a young age not only what it meant to be a good Mormon, but what it meant to be a good person. I have always had a love of the gospel, even from the time I was a little girl, but, perhaps I truly began to appreciate the gospel as I entered my teen years. If I did not have the Church to fall back on, I would be utterly lost. Every single decision I make reflects my beliefs. I choose to live the standards of this church because I love the way living that way makes me feel. I can truly say I am happy, which is not something many of my friends and acquaintances can say. I am happy because I know I have a best friend, brother, Savior and Redeemer who loves me and would and has done anything for me. Having that knowledge is enough to make myself get up every morning and go back to school, no matter how painful the previous day was. Having that knowledge is what makes me, me.

How I live my faith

I am serving a full-time mission for this church in Spain. Women are not required to serve missions, so it was a decision left entirely up to me and the Lord. I have always known I wanted to serve a mission, it was always a matter of timing. Recently, the age for sisters to be able to serve was lowered and I was given the opportunity to serve sooner rather than later. For me, making big decisions has not been something for just me to do, but something for me to take to the Lord and decide with Him through prayer and scripture study the course of action which I should take. Deciding when to serve a mission was no different. Through fasting, prayer and study of the scriptures, I was led to decide to serve a mission now. As a missionary, my purpose is to bring others to Christ. This is accomplished through serving others, teaching them and just loving others. The main thing which I do is just love the people who I serve, and right now, this includes all of the beautiful people living in Southern Spain. I wanted to be a missionary so others could know and feel the happiness which I feel because I have the gospel in my life. My faith makes me happy, it brings me true, pure joy and it is such a great feeling, that I can't help but want to share this with others so everyone can have this light in their lives.
