Hi I'm Seth Avey

I am a husband, father, runner, and bad golfer. I love my family, Arizona weather and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 wonderful, crazy kids and husband to my beautiful wife. I met my wife at a church event when we were both attending the University of Utah. At first we were just friends who shared the same interests. We both liked sports, especially college football, and we shared the same beliefs. After time I saw her for how truly special she was and knew that we could be happy together. Since then we have enjoyed several happy years of marriage and look forward to many happy years to come.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of this church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). Since I was very young I had strong feelings in my heart that told me that this church was true. However, it was not until I served a full time mission in Europe that my testimony of the church was solidified. Many people I spoke with doubted my faith and challenged my beliefs. Early in my mission I had to look deep within myself to determine if I truly believed the things that I had learned as a youth in the church. Through the Holy Ghost, Heavenly Father confirmed to me that I was doing the right thing and that I was where he wanted to be, serving a mission to preach His gospel. I am so gratelful for those experiences that helped confirm what I had been taught early in life. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that we can have complete faith in him and that His atonement is real. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows us individually and cares for us and I know that he listens to and answers our prayers.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to keep all of the commandments that Heavenly Father has given us. I have found that I am so much happier when I live my life in a way that is pleasing to God. I try to look for opportunities to serve other people in my area and also members of my local church. I also work with our local boy scouting organization as scoutmaster. I love working with the youth to help them work on merit badges, attend service projects, and go on camp-outs.
