Hi I'm Jason

I am a Podiatric Medical Student. I love to dance, play volleyball, cook, go camping and play outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was recently married to the most beautiful woman in the world! She is such a strength and support and best friend to me. We live in an apartment and love married life! I am attending full-time podiatry school 10 - 12 hours a day, while she is at work full-time working with elementary school kids with special needs. She is so sweet to come home from work and make dinner and bring it to school to eat with me on a regular basis. We are happily married and....expecting our first baby! Crazy enough, our first baby will be due right during finals week of the Spring Quarter. Yikes!! We are definitely nervous to become parents but are even more excited! Family always has been and will continue to be a top priority for us throughout our life and eternity together.

Why I am a Mormon

Before anyone can assume I am a member of this church because my parents are members of the church let me please share the true reason; after much study, pondering, prayer and action, I felt the peaceful assurance of the Holy Spirit spoken of in the Bible in the fifth chapter of Galatians versus 22-23. I came to a point when I was about 14 years old when I honestly wondered if I really believed this is the Lord's church restored on the earth today. I decided it mattered so much to me and that I wanted to spend as long as it would take to study the scriptures and pray for guidance from a loving God so that I could receive an answer. One thing I truly felt was that He would answer me. It took years of effort, and slowly He has given me guidance piece by piece, in such a way that had ups and downs where I felt so happy and sure and times I felt so unsure. I have learned more to recognize the peaceful assurance the Holy Spirit gives when I am studying and living truth. While serving a proselyting mission for the Lord in another country I had the opportunity to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of it being restored to the earth through a modern prophet chosen by God. I observed many individuals pray and learn of the truth of the Book of Mormon and how it is a testament of Jesus Christ along with the Bible. I have learned from positive and negative experiences based on my own actions the great blessing of the Lord's truth in its fulness back on the earth again. I have committed myself to Him and following Him the rest of my life and for eternity. I found an amazing woman who has made that decision as well in her own life. By living the commandments of the Lord and following His counsel as given through His chosen prophet on the earth today--Thomas Monson--I have found true joy in my life and the peace of the Holy Spirit on a regular basis. My wife and I are so happy as we follow Him together and look forward to teaching our kids also.

How I live my faith

When my wife and I moved to this area we were asked to serve in a position in our church. We were to serve as missionaries. Outside of our regular church attendance on Sundays, we attend a meeting every Tuesday and discuss with other missionaries how we can help those in need in our neighborhood. We discuss the needs of people who have decided not to come to church anymore, or cannot due to work obligations, and we go and visit some of these individuals each week to share our desire to help in any way we can. It has been such a neat chance to go and meet people I have never met and serve them in different ways. My wife and I have loved going about trying to good among God's children as much as we can throughout the week. I also serve as what is called a "Hometeacher". I go and visit people who are in our "ward" (congregation that lives within a specific geographical area) and see how they and their family is doing. I share a little message with them each month as long as they would like one and have become good friends with the families I get to visit. I have a friend that goes with me to visit these people. Serving in the church is great! It is difficult to take time out of each week but I love it! I feel so much happier when my time is spent in serving others and not myself.
