Hi I'm Bennett

I was born in Louisiana grew up in Texas. I work in a behavorial health hospital. I am a convert. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work in a behavorial health hospital as a pysch tech. I love sports mainly baseball and football. My teams are the Houston Astros in baseball and the Texas A&M Aggies in football. I am a husband and dad to a 4 year old boy. My son and I both have a genetically inherited disorder called neurofibromatosis. My dad had it also. He passed away when I was 17. My son has an optical glioma and had to go through 13 months of chemo. My wife and I had to go to a fertility specialist in order to have a child. We did have twins but one of the twins died 8 weeks into gestation. I have spent time in the Army and learned a lot from life. I have some college classes, but worked at my job from the ground up and moved up by experience. I am the only member in my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Baptist. My mother and father both instilled in me a knowledge of Christ and a sense of worth. But I never really felt at home in the chruch. When the missionaries knocked on my door in a small town in Arkansas and invited me to go to their church, I felt at home. I felt that what I was being taught was familer. I found what I was looking for. The people at the small ward there made me a part of their family. The church gave me an understanding who I am. Why am I here. And where I am going. It provided a stronger me. It taught me line up on line precept upon precept. It took me for who I am. The church did not judge me on my living situation or life. I know without a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ lives. That he did die for my sins and rose again on the 3rd day. I took the challange of the Book of Mormon and know that it too is another Testament of Jesus Chrst. That in it's pages one can get closer to Christ.

How I live my faith

I am not prefect by any means. I try to live a life that people will take notice and see something different. I try to work hard at my job and set the example. Some days I do better are than others. I currently teach a lesson every 4th Sunday to the Elders. In the community I attend sporting events around the valley with my son and wife.
