Hi I'm John Nelson

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the Church. Taught school, raised 3 kids, and now a ceramic artist.

About Me

I am a Vietnam veteran, taught school for the Bureau of Indain Affairs, a father & grandfather, and avid lover of art. I am a ceramic artist and an adjuct instructor of ceramics at an art school in the area & a pottery school 13 miles from home. I enjoy working with "mud" on a daily basis in my studio. Most of my work is functional in nature and vessels that can be used everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I have gained a testamony of the gospel through helping my wife fight cancer. Experiences during this time has helped solitify my belief in the Lord and His Church. I appreciate the serviceand helping hand that can be given through the programs of the Church. Charity given to others helps me appreciate the blessings I have.

How I live my faith

I work with the Bishop of our 450 member "ward". My responsibility is to keep the records of each member. I also enjoy working on service projects the art community in the city organize to help the homeless in our city.
