Hi I'm Jeri

I grew up as a member of the Church. I'm a 58 year old widow. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My father worked for the Church and as a result we lived in New Zealand and Hawaii. I have some great memories! I attended college in Utah and met my husband there. After thirty-eight years of marriage, my husband passed away from leukemia. A little over a year later, I was laid off from my job of fourteen years. I am a mother of four and a grandmother of eleven.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that towns, cities, states, countries and governments will come and go, but the family is eternal. This knowledge has been a source of strength to me as I face the challenges of widowhood and life. It has also helped my children and grandchildren deal with the passing of their father and grandfather. Knowing that we are an eternal family also motivates us to be better family members. We love, enjoy and appreciate each other so much more.

How I live my faith

Instead of asking "why me?" after my husband passed away and I lost my job, I asked "what can I learn?" I have found strength to do things I would not have done. I have served a mission for the Church; and then with skills learned from that mission, I have volunteered in my community. I still do not have a job, but I am volunteering and helping my children and grandchildren in ways I could not have done if my husband was still alive. Faith in my Savior and knowing that He loves me help me every day.
