Hi I'm Tamy

I love that it is my choice... to be happy, even sometimes when it is hard! I choose to be happy forever and I am Mormon!

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I went back to school when I was 39 years old and finished my education. I loved working in the operating room but I came to realize what I loved the most in this life...And what was most important in my life,,,And that is my family! I was baptized into the church when I was 8 but, due to a father that was not a Mormon I was unable to attend church. I am thankful my mother had the chance to see that I was baptized even though she was not a active member of the Mormon church. My mother must have know that this was important for me and for this I will be eternally thankful to her! My parents divorced. When I was 13 my parents bought me a horse! I loved every minute I was able to spend with my horses! With the help of a few friends I was able to compete in rodeos! It was there, when I was 15, that I met, the cutest 17 year champion bronc rider in the whole world! I was not a active member of the Mormon church and knew VERY little of it. Tom was not a member. We married when I was 19 and Tom was 21. By the time I was 21 we had our first of five children! Tom continued to rodeo professionally for many years and also had a job in the automobile business. I was blessed to be a stay at home mom. We have been married going on 35 years! We have 10 grand children, with one on the way. Our oldest three children are married, our fourth child will soon be married and our youngest son is serving a full time church mission in the Italy Milan Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up...I was exposed to many things I knew was not right. As a child of God that we all are...We are all born with the "Light of Christ! As a young girl there were things my father did, and said to me that did, and for a long time hurt me. I carried this for many years. Tom's father was a severe alcoholic and had hurt him in ways no child should ever have to endure.Even though Tom desired to always be the best husband and father... Tom fell into the same alcohol addiction which took his father's life. I always knew what I wanted for my children and that was two loving parents, since Tom and I both came from divorced families. So when we had three of our five children, we both decided that our children needed some spiritual guidance and this is when we first started to go to the Mormon church.Tom and I recognized the SWEET spirit we felt in this church...it was what we wanted for our family. This was the guidance we had been looking for! Tom still struggled with alcohol and did not go to often.14 years into our marriage I came to know that he had more than one addiction! Tom also had a severe cocaine addiction! I knew then why he was never baptized up until this point. He shared with me that he always felt unworthy and he did not know if he could quit his addictions. In as much this was one of the hardest days of my life, It was the best day ever too. I had a wonderful bishop, who loved us both and explained to Tom and I, that if we would go to the Lord with a soft heart and surrender his will unto HIM and...if Tom would have the faith to be baptized, he would be washed clean and we both would be blessed! With great faith Tom was baptized 19 years ago! From the day Tom was baptized he NEVER took another sip of alcohol or another drug! There are not words to describe my gratitude to my Heavenly Father and our Savoir for the love and support THEY have given to Tom and I. The knowledge I have learned through the Mormon church saved our family's life's forever!

How I live my faith

I LOVE this church because of the unconditional love it has for all! This church has taught me to look at my family and other people through the eyes of our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ! We are all children of our Father in Heaven! HE loves ALL of us no matter, whether we are a member of the Mormon church or not!! My family is far from prefect we still have our ups and downs, but I am so thankful that, no matter where we all are in our lives, HE has provided a Savior for ALL! The Mormon Church provides many resources for those who are struggling with drug and alcohol addictions and any other type of addiction, and for those who are facing out-of- wedlock pregnancies. I have been blessed to serve in this area of the church for the last 9 years! Through these programs is where I have come to know that it is not up to us to judge anyone! "Who are we to think those who are suffering, deserve to suffer" quote from President Uchtdorf. I am not saying that everyday I have is perfect! This life is to learn and progress! We have to know hard times to recognize the good times. My faith has taught me to try and always look "Heavenward" and know there is hope no matter! Without my faith and the Mormon church I know I would have a hard time finding peace and comfort in this world! In today times there is a lot of adversary people give up, they do not understand the Atonement of Jesus Christ, but again through my faith I know there is hope for ALL! As I have witness people surrender their will to our Heavenly Father I have seen miracle. Tom and I were blessed with a miracle when he was baptized in April 1992 and then we when surrendered our will and lives completely.... to our Heavenly Father on April 29,1993 when we were sealed together for "Eternity"! On this same amazingly wonderful day our five children were sealed to us for "Eternity" as well! This day will forever be sketched in my heart!! My Heavenly Father has taught me "I CAN BE HAPPY" through my FAITH!!!
