Hi I'm Robert

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As I reflect on my life I realize that I have been blessed to have participated in many and varied endeavors. after High School I served in the United States Army. I was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division and was stationed primarily at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. I have been happily married for forty-six years to my eternal companion and we have been blessed with five wonderful children and thirteen grand-children. I am a graduate of two universities with degrees in Political Science, History, Public Administration, International Relations, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations and manage-ment. I have worked in the private sector and in both local and federal government positions. I have been an avid hunter and fisherman from early childhood and am currently involved with my (and my wifes) favorite hobby of gardening. I like to travel and enjoy doing volunteer service in the local community.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 5th generation member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (as is my wife). I have been blessed by a tremendous legacy that has been passed on to me through the teaching, personal examples, service and testimonies of goodly parents, grandparents and other valient and faithful pro-geniters. I am blessed to have a personal testimony brought by, and strengthened through, the contin-ual ministrations of the Holy Ghost of God our Eternal Father and his beloved, and only begotten Son, our Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I know our Saviour to be the one and only path back to the presence of our Heavenly Father. I have a fervent testimony of the Saviour, and of His Atoning sacrifice on our behalf. I know that by following His loving guidance to live by and to obey his commandments I will be a better, happier and more forgiving person. I further testify that we are blessed to have the wisdon, counsel and guidance of a living prophet. I thrill to the knowledge that the Saviours true and living church was restored through a latter day Prophet, Joseph Smith. That Joseph Smith, a Prophet, seer and revelator, translated the Book of Mormon (another testement to Jesus Christ). I am truly humbl-ed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and by the faith and trust our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ have in me and my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my very best to follow the tenets and precepts of the Gospel on a daily and ongoing basis. I believe in being a good, honest, law-abiding and active participating member of society. I believe that it is important to be a good and trusted neighbor. To this end my wife and I visit some of the local nursing homes on a regular basis to visit the elderly, the lonely, the shut-ins and those with a variety of illinesses and infirmities. My family has adopted a Homeless and Community Service Center as our service project and try, on a regular ongoing basis, to provide food, clothing and com-passionate service to those in need. I believe that we are a stonger communmity and country when we provide care, concern, service and succor to each other. According to the Churchs' 13th Article of Faith "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men: indeed we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul-We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is any thing virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things".
