Hi I'm Shannon

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am twenty-eight years old and a wife and mother. I enjoy sports, writing, singing, playing the guitar and traveling. I have been to Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Holland, England, Mexico, and Dominican Republic. I have a BA degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Arizona University. I taught English to pre-school children in Russia. I have been sky diving and on a ballroom dance team where I met my husband Aaron. We couldn’t have children for the first four years of marriage but now we have been blessed with a little boy who is almost 2 and another one on the way.

Why I am a Mormon

Because it is true. There comes a time when the Holy Ghost will give you the answers to all your questions and when he does you cannot deny it. The only catch is, is that you have to want to know... bad enough to seek the answers diligently. I'm a Mormon because the Holy Ghost testified to me that this church is true. He testified that there is a God and that he loves me and has a plan for me and I am all for it.

How I live my faith

I can't get enough. I attend church weekly. My family and I read scriptures together every night. We pray together many times during the day. My little two year old son can point out a picture of Jesus anywhere. We make sure to focus much of our energy and time on our family; growing together and binded by our faith and religion that we share. My husband and I have been married for about 6 years and we are still madly in love with one another. We go on dates together weekly. We attend the temple monthly. We participate in wholesome activities. We stive to serve our neighbors and community. We volunteer for boy scout programs. My husband is an adolescent substance abuse counselor who constantly tries to fight the battle that is overcoming our youth of today. We want our world to be a better place. We want our children to grow up in a loving environment.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is an individual being who does not have a body at this time so that he may be able to testify to the whole world that Jesus is the Christ and that Heavenly Father has a plan for us. He is a member of the Godhead which means that he is one with the Father and the Son in purpose. His mission is to testify of truth. Many walked with Christ and saw him perform miracles but did not receive a confirmation that Jesus is the Christ until the Holy Ghost testified it unto their hearts. It is through the Holy Ghost that we learn the truth of all things. His comfort can be felt by all that allow him to reveal truth to them. Show more Show less
