Hi I'm Jason

I was born in Salt Lake City. I was blessed to be drafted by the NY Yankees and I love being with my Family & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being with my family! No matter how bad the outside world gets, knowing that I have an opportunity to be with my family forever has developed a desire in me to do all I can to ensure that can happen. I cant wait to get home to see them every day. Growing up my dream was to play professional baseball, that seemed to be all that mattered and I worked hard at it. But it caused me to lose focus on many things that should have been more important in my life. I had the opportunity to get drafted and to play professionally for a number of years. During that time I had the blessing of getting married to my beautiful wife and we had our first child. I also lost my younger brother in a tragic accident and over night it seemed like everything that used to be important changed. Instead of trying to strike people out, I missed my new family when we would go on road trips. I started to truly question what I believed and what was important. It was during that time as a twenty something young man that I finally started to gain a testimony of this gospel! While expecting our second child and first daughter I decided to be a full time husband/dad and haven't second guessed or looked back since. I'm definitely not perfect at it, infact seems like I still don't know what I'm doing, but I can say I am trying and look forward to it everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

While in college I roomed with a return missionary, I learned a lot from him. Just the way he handled himself, how strong he was in this faith and it made me realize how much better I needed to be. I started to read a lot more about church history and started to get some strong impressions that it was true! How else can you explain an uneducated farm boy writing a book that accounts ancient times in the time frame he did with the resources that were available to him. Why else would people give their time and service in this church if they weren't receiving the same impressions that I was. The more I have surrouned myself with those who serve, the stronger my testimony has become. I challenge anyone who is questioning to ask on their knees with true intent and you will not be denied those same impressions if you put yourself in a place to openly recieve them. I do have a testimony that this church is true. The more I work at gaining a further testimony, the better prepared I am becoming to be with my family forever and that opportunity is worth everything to me.

How I live my faith

I face everyday challenges like everyone does. There are days when I feel like the Savior is walking right next to me and I can accomplish anything. There are also times when I get frustrated. But what I can say is when I am following the gospel principles and giving myself an opportunity to feel the spirit -Everything seems to run better and I know it's not just a coincidence, I am being blessed because of my faith. I don't do everyting right, I've made more than my share of mistakes, but I do know that because of my trials I will be stronger and a better person if I work hard to get through them and that's a reality to all of us. We will all make mistakes, but what are we willing to learn from them and what are we willing to do to make them right. When I take on challenges with humility is when I find I have to greatest opportunity to overcome them.
