Hi I'm Rochelle

I'm a watercolorist. Mother of three. Volleyball player. I love life ...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live on a horse ranch in Western Washington, but I love to paint Japan. I am American born but spent a decade in Asia. I speak Japanese and just a little bit of Mandarin. I have a degree in Psychology, an eye for beauty, a love of travel, an awesome husband and three kids who keep me busy...but happy. I love playing volleyball. I'm not shy about singing in public. I love Autumn. I love Christmas. But above everything else, I love my Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church. Being a Mormon was a comfortable thing for me, but when I went to college I found that my beliefs and standards were challenged by those around me. I decided to challenge myself, to find out if the Church was true. I read the book of Mormon start to finish for the first time, and committed myself more fully to prayer. My prayers were answered and I knew, more strongly than ever, that this was the Church of Jesus Christ. I feel a loving and welcome spirit when I attend church and I know that it is a sanctuary in which God's Spirit can dwell.

How I live my faith

I believe being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints means that you live your life as the Savior would have you live it. I am not perfect, but I can follow the perfect example of Jesus Christ. The Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of Jesus Christ and I learn about his teachings and ministry by reading them. Christ taught that we should love and serve others, and when we serve others, we are serving Him. We read the scriptures as a family and pray for opportunities to serve those around us.
