Hi I'm Darrell Madsen

I've been an accountant in the Phoenix for 47 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a Master of Accountancy degree and past the Certified Public Accountant's test in 1967. My wife and I have four children, three daughters and a son. Three of our children are married and one daughter is single and still living at home. I retired four years ago and now do family history and some consulting.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that were members of the church. I was the oldest of two sons. My family attended church each Sunday. When I was seventeen years old I received a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon while attending a youth fireside. At age 21 I received a full time mission call to the Southwest Indian Mission headquartered in Gallup, New Mexico. I felt I was taking the Navajo's and Hopi"s a record (the Book of Mormon) of their ancestors. Many of the indian traditions have threads of knowledge about when Christ was amoung them. Living the principles of the Gospel has brought much happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

After graduating from college alot of my assignment in our ward were as financial clerk. When my son was 12 I was called to serve in the Boy Scount of America youth program. I received my Wood Badge certificate while working with the young men. When I was in my 50's I was called to serve young single adults (18-30)years old. I was 2nd Councilor, 1st Councilor, Bishop and Stake Clerk during my 16 years working with young single adults. I have a great love for the young single adults. Now I serve with my wife as a Family History Consultant.
