Hi I'm Jamie Willis

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a small town in Arizona. One of eight children, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was raised in a small town in NE Arizona. Raised with 8 children. Enjoyed camping, fishing, singing and dancing. Remembering my special times with my family, putting on plays in our back yard. Now I am a Dad, and I enjoy my 4 children. We enjoy out door activities, camping and fishing, Wakeboarding, snowboarding, and just enjoying the great outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I was born into the chruch. My parent were mormon, my grandparents were mormon. I went to chruch on Sundays, and Primary on Wednesdays after school. I was taught the gospel in my home, during everyday life, Home Evenings with my family, and watching my parents not only teach us, but live the gospel. They were, and still are great examples. I try to have that same feeling for my children that I had growning up. I went on a mission for the church when I was 19 years old to Spokane Washington. I prepared for it my whole life. I always knew that when I was 19, I would go on a mission. Just like the people that I met on my mission, and taught the gospel to, I too had to go through a conversion process, very similar just like the people on my mission. Even though I grew up as a Mormon, I still had to read and pray about the church, the Book of Mormon, and Joesph Smith. I did receive an answer to my prayers, which gave me a whole new prospective about the gospel. So when I talked with people while on my Mission, as well as now, I know the feeling that I had when I learned about the truthfulness of the gospel, and the Plan of Happiness. I am married with 4 children. My oldest is married, soon to start having a family. My second oldest is currently on a Mission in all places, Washington. My 3rd is engaged and getting married this fall. My youngest has 2 years remaining in High School before he will go on his mission. All these things added up are the reason I am a Mormon. I have a peaceful feeling like I do, because I have the knowlege of the plan our Heavely Father has fur us. This all adds up to why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings or jobs in the church. When I was younger I held leadership positions in the youth organization, and involved in the Boy Scout program. After serving 18 months on a Mission, I was Married in the Temple. I have held jobs where I was able to teach young children under 3, which is a challenge, but very fun. I have also been involved in the Scouting program, and am currently involved with the young men in our ward between the ages of 14-16. What a great expereince that is, to see how these young men, take thier responsibilities in the church, and thier families, and magnify them. What great examples they are, and how I learn from them. My wife and I try hard to have a peaceful home. We feel it is very important to have family meals together as much as possible. That is where we have a lot of our fun. We also are a very close family, able to talk openly with concerns or problems, or praise. We try to include everyone. We play together quite a bit. Weather its snow boarding in the winter, or wake boarding in the summer, going fishing and camping, or just enjoying a good movie around the television. We have a lot of fun together, and many of our childrens friends see the difference, and have even commented on the different feeling that have in our home. What a great feeling that gives my wife and I when we hear things like that. Not to say we don't have dissagreements, we do, but when you realize that we will be together with each other, for ever, it kind of brings you right back down to reality. All these things add up to how I live my faith. I do have a testimony of this church, and not only feel it, but I see the good that it does. I am surrounded by many great people who feel the same in a lot of ways, and try and raise thier children to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. What a great atmosphere to be in.
