Hi I'm Karen

I'm a mother and grandmother. I love to read, crochet, and take long walks with my husband. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to read just about any kind of book. One of my earliest memories is sitting in a cozy corner reading when about 4 or 5. I also love to crochet and do other kinds of handwork. My children and grandchildren are the light of my life. Even though I graduated from college, all I ever really wanted was to raise a family, which is what I did. I am actively involved in researching my family history and love to help others research their ancestors as well. What joy I feel as I fill in the spaces in my family tree.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 11 years old, the missionaries taught my family the gospel. I can still remember the clarity it brought to me as they explained our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness. This understanding has brought steadiness and strength to my life as I have struggled thru the ups and downs of life. It gave us strength as my husband and I raised our 6 children and lived a life with the usual ups and downs that come our way. When a genetic illness took two of those children from us, my membership in the Church and my understanding of the eternal nature of families gave us the peace of knowing that we are an eternal family. These precious sons are not lost to us but have gone on ahead of us. The covenants we have made in the temple unite us as a family eternally. What comfort that brings to me. As I see the world around me with its increasing chaos and uncertainty, my membership in the Lord's church brings peace, safety, and strength. I know I can trust our Father's constant loving care in my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the coordinator for our ward's visiting teachers. It is sometimes frustrating and always satisfying as I work to help meet the needs of the individuals in our ward. I have served in the past as a teacher of both the youth as well as the adults and have love it. I will be wherever they need me.
