Hi I'm Hillary

I'm a 5th generation Arizonan. I'm a hairstylist/makeup artist. I enjoy the outdoors & have a passion for music. And I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born into an LDS family. I was the youngest of 4 kids. My parents divorced when I was 5 years old and I have lived a "double life" ever since then. I lived at both of their houses all growing up. I went to two different wards, had two different groups of friends, and had double the Holiday's. I always had to have everything in bags. My dad remarried a year after my parents divorced and my stepmom had one son from her previous marraige that she had adopted. My dad ended up adopting him so that he is my adopted brother now, not a stepbrother. My mom remarried when I was 11 years old. She married a guy that grew up Catholic and he converted after meeting my mom and learning more about the church. They had two girls together. I love them! And my dad and stepmom had two boys together who are the same age as the girls. So now I have five brothers and 3 sisters! We have been through a lot as a family but I wouldn't change it for the world. It has made me who I am today and I have grown so much. I work full time as a hairstylist and makeup artist. I love fashion and art. I love crafting and making things. I love to snowboard, wakeboard, surf, longboard, and pretty much do anything outdoors. I love to be active! Running, sports, cheer, dance, riding bikes, etc. I also have a passion for music. I play guitar and sing. My ultimate goal is to be a mom and have an eternal family. I want to teach my kids the principles of the Gospel and be the best mom that I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a member home, but the reason I have chosen to be a member isn't because my family are members. It's because through study and prayer, I have had the Holy Ghost reveal to me that the Book Of Mormon is the word of God and it is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. He saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon. Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today. The Priesthood has been restored to the earth and I know that it's real. I have seen it's power in my life and in so many others. Through the priesthood and the sealing power made availiable to us in the temple, we can have eternal families. That is what the Gospel is for. It enables us to be with our families in Heavenly Fathers presence for eternity. The peace that living the Gospel brings into my life is unlike anything else. Knowing where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going after this life is so comforting. I know that everything in this life happens for a reason. God has a plan for each and every one of us. He knows us all by name. I know that if we do our best by studying the scriptures, praying and communicating with Heavenly Father, keeping the commandments, and serving others, we will come closer to Heavenly Father and better understand his plan for us. I know that if we put God first in our lives, everything else will fall into it's proper place. Life isn't easy. We can't expect it to be perfect. But when we put our lives in God's hands and trust in him, we will have peace knowing that it's God's will and that we are going through certain trials for a reason. He loves his Children and wants each one of us to return to him. Do our best, and leave the rest to him. I love the Gospel and i will strive each day to become closer to Heavenly Father and better understand his will for me. It brings the greatest happiness in my life and I pray for missionary experiences daily so that I can share it with others!

How I live my faith

I am a Gospel Doctrine teacher in my singles ward. I love teaching the Word of God! I love it because I learn so much every time I get to prepare a lesson and give it. I think I learn more than the class members! I also do visiting teaching and I love that. It's fun to get to know other women in the ward. It creates a bond that's unbreakable! Serving others is the greatest way to get through trials. You forget about yourself and end up finding yourself all at one time. I also volunteer for the Downs Syndrome Awareness program and the Buddy Walk. My little brother CJ has downs syndrome and I have such a great love for people with disabilities. They truly have the light of Christ in their eyes. It's an honor to have CJ as my brother and an honor to serve others who are faced with disability in their lives as well.
