Hi I'm Ashlee

I'm mom to 3 amazing and adventurous kids and wife to 1 crazy husband. I'm just trying to keep up. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up moving often- almost every school year- as my family followed my dad's NBA career around the country. My unique childhood gave me the opportunity to be part of different cultures and to know and love many different kinds of people. I still love meeting new people and hearing their stories. These days, the people I meet are most often other parents at my kids' school or on the sidelines of a soccer or football game.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe our Heavenly Father loves us more than we can understand. I believe Jesus Christ is our Savior. His atonement allows me to change and grow- hopefully getting a bit better every day. These truths fill me with hope and joy. There's nothing I want more than for my kids to be happy- to feel the hope and joy that the gospel has brought to my life.

How I live my faith

My faith influences every part of my life. I am trying to follow the example of our Savior. I am trying to fill my days, my mind and my heart with good things. I am trying to love and serve and forgive.... and then repent when I fall short. In the mornings, my kids and I read scriptures (right now we are working on the New Testament) and pray before they leave for school. We all need daily reminders of God's love in our lives, and we all need His help. We say prayers before meals and before bed time. Once a week we have an evening where we have a simple gospel-based lesson and play a game together. Often, one of my kids will teach us the lesson. They love our "Family Nights". We go to church together every Sunday. At church, I volunteer with the 16 & 17 year old young women in our ward. I help plan an activity or service project for us to do together every Wednesday night, and I teach gospel based lessons on Sundays. It has increased my faith to see some of the things these young ladies face in life and how they rely on God to help them overcome. They inspire me.
