Hi I'm CJ

I grew up in Washington state. I'm a convert to the church. I'm currently serving a mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated college with a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting. I enjoy sports: basketball, football, baseball, tennis, and soccer. I also enjoy music: singing, the piano, and guitar. I'm the oldest of three boys in a family of five.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I believe that Joseph Smith restored the true gospel of Christ that was lost after the death of Christ and His apostles, and through this restoration His church exists today. I believe that the authority with which the apostles held and allowed them to minister unto the people of the their time and preach the gospel lies in the restored church. I've read the Book of Mormon, and I've pondered its words, and I've prayed to Heavenly Father, with a sincere heart and real intent, to know the truthfulness of the things I've read, and I've received an answer, and it's an answer that I can't deny. I know that the ability to speak and ask our Heavenly Father questions that are specific to us is available to everyone and anyone who sincerely seeks it. Though faith is to believe in things which aren't seen, the blessings of following the true gospel of Jesus Christ and my membership in this church have been very evident.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving a mission. I arise at 6:30AM and get to bed at 10:30PM. All the time in between is devoted to learning Portuguese, reading the Bible and Book of Mormon, strengthening teaching skills, and generally preparing to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I serve as a zone leader to about 50 other missionaries. Throughout the week I help to organize church meetings, conduct orientations to new missionaries, ensure others understand how to succeed, and report to our local church leaders.
