Hi I'm Jessie

I was raised in Davis County, Utah. I love art and books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended a University in Idaho, where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Illustration. In my time there, I fell in love with the illustrators of the golden age of illustration, including Leyendecker, Rockwell, Wyeth, Pyle, Parrish and many more. I dream of one day having my own work published and distributed. While in Idaho, I met the amazing man that is now my husband. We were sealed together in the Salt Lake City temple for time and all eternity and shortly thereafter, moved to Texas for my husband to finish school. He is now studying in the Architectural Engineering department at a University here in Texas. We are expecting our first baby soon and are overjoyed at our chance to be parents!

Why I am a Mormon

I have parents with strong testimonies of Jesus Christ which laid the beginning foundation of my faith. I learned the gospel in my home and was baptized at eight years old. When I reached high school, I attended Seminary regularly, but I began a very thorough search of the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon, to find out if my testimony was mine or a product of what I had been taught for so many years. My confirmations came slowly, the spirit always testified of truth, and in time I came to know that my faith in Jesus Christ was real. Since then I have relied on that faith time and time again. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ, we can live our lives in such a way that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I help out in the women's organization in the church which is called the Relief Society. My duties are to assist the Relief Society President in all of her responsibilities in caring for the women in our ward. I also have a few women that I watch over personally and there are some sisters assigned to watch over me. We call this web of care and contact "visiting teaching". Not only is this an effective way for us to strengthen our faith and each other, but we also form strong friendships that will last our lifetime and beyond. I try to live in such a way that pleases my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I find joy in my family and the gospel and I strive to share that joy with my friends and neighbors.
