Hi I'm Dan Hegerhorst

I am a child of God, son, husband, father, grandfather and electrical construction project manager and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 3 wonderful children and have 6 grandchildren. We live enough that we can regularly see 2 of our children and 4 of our grand children. It is great to watch them grow and learn. I work in electrical construction as a project manager. It is fascinating to watch a building grow from ideas on paper to a real building. I also enjoy working around our home and making it better. I like to be busy and doing things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to have been born into a family that were already members of the Church. I did not have to go looking for the true Church since I grew up a member in the Church. I, like everyone else had to find out if this was the true Church. I did not have a big event or vision that told me it was the true Church. It came little by little a bit at a time until I realized that it all made sense and the logic of the Gospel of Jesus Christ became part of my every day life. I am so blessed to have the Gospel to guide and protect me from the evils of the world. I am in awe of the blessings the Gospel provides for me and my family.

How I live my faith

For many years I helped with the young men in the Church. We would go on Scout trip, camp outs and high adventures with the young men. It was great to watch them grow up! My wife and I received a call to serve a mission together in Uruguay! We served there for 23 months and learned a little Spanish. It was very challenging and wonderful to watch the Gospel of Jesus Christ change the lives of the people that would investigate the Church and truly want to know if what the Missionaries were teaching them was correct and humble themselves enough to pray and ask God if the teachings were true. They would receive answers and their own testimony of the truthfulness of the Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Everyone has the same opportunity to find out for themselves if the teaching are true. It is simple, you only have to sincerely ask in prayer if it is true and you will receive an answer. You don't have to be someone important or really religious to get an answer, you just have to have a sincere desire and ask! It is that simple. I like to help people by providing service. Doing things like cutting, splitting and stacking firewood. I get to help people with electrical problems quite often. I enjoy helping other people. We just complete a service project in commemoration of the 911 bombing. Many members of our Church assisted the City of Renton and King County with 30 different service projects. It was great to help and do something good for the community
