Hi I'm Emily

I love to read and travel. I'm a wife and mom and I love my job! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Nebraska. I am the fourth of five girls. I met my fabulous husband while attending BYU and was married in the Denver temple twelve years ago. I am a mom of two beautiful daughters and one handsome son. I have lived in 5 states and had every one of my children in a different state. I currently reside in Arizona and absolutely love it! I love to read, cook, travel and volunteer in my children’s school. My bucket list includes tandem skydiving, riding a camel in Morocco and visiting Russia. One of my most favorite things to do is read a good book beside a roaring fire, while watching the snow fall and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate (good thing I love to vacation in the mountains).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS faith. Since leaving my parents’ home and being on my own, I have only seen blessings as a result of the choices I have made. I chose a returned missionary to marry and was married, not just for this life but, forever in a temple of the Lord. My husband and I have a very successful and happy marriage. I chose to be a stay-at-home mom and I strive to raise my children in the faith that has been fulfilling and rewarding in my own life. My general happiness in life solidifies my knowledge that my Father in Heaven is happy with my choices and I am blessed for my faithfulness and obedience to Him. I am truly grateful for the sacrifice that my Savior made for me. I am grateful for the knowledge that I can repent of my sins and have the opportunity to live with my family and my Father in Heaven once more. I know that Jesus Christ restored the gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith and that we are blessed with a living prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. I know my Savior lives and loves me and I love Him.

How I live my faith

I strive every day to live as my Heavenly Father and Jesus would have me live. I try to be a good example to my children. We are taught that being a mother is paramount to any other career. If we raise our children to be happy and healthy in an environment of faith, love and service; we can expect fulfillment in this life and the next. I currently teach 13-14 year old youth during Sunday School. I love sharing the gospel with them and helping them learn and grow. They are an inspiration to me as well. Being a stay-at-home mom allows me the time to serve others. To me, service ranges from a smile and kind word to a neighbor, to listening to a friend in a time of trial, to physically helping with projects in the neighborhood and community. Service brings a sense of peace and happiness that can only be surpassed by the gratification of being a wife and mother.
