Hi I'm Amy

I'm a wife, a mother of seven, a midwife and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up mostly in Arizona in a large family of 11 children. I married my highschool sweetheart after completing a few years of college. I then became a licensed midwife and do homebirths occasionally. I am a mom of seven beautiful children- six boys and one lucky girl. I love being outdoors, especially if I am running with friends or playing with my kids. My husband and I love to cook together and entertain friends and family. Life is full of challenges and is busy but I couldn't be happier.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up mormon so it has been a part of my life since day one. It is a big part of my culture and who I am. I have discovered in my life that when I live what the church and the Savior teaches I am happy and when I don't I feel confused and depressed and afraid of all the challenges in this life. I have this reconfirmed on almost a daily basis. My family quarrels and has very hard days but when we read the scriptures together and pray and live up to the promises we have made everything runs smoother, is easier and there is much more peace in our home. I love what the gospel teaches, I love how it makes me feel. I love that I feel close to God and to Jesus Christ when I am making good choices and doing what I have been taught is right.

How I live my faith

From the time I was a teenager I have always put a lot of time into volunteering in my church. I have worked with the teenage girls, with the very young children, with the older children and also with the women of the church. I have gone to summer camps, taught lessons on Sunday, organized lots and lots of activities, taught and played with hundreds of toddlers, and even taught singing to the children. I love to sing in our choir as well. With each new assignment I get I am always excited and a little apprehensive because I know it will be work and take time and I will have to probably get out of my comfort zone to really do it right. I have grown in many areas and learned new skills by being willing to go to work and serve other people. We are church that is run solely by its members. No one is paid so we all get chances to do lots of different things and to learn all kinds of skills. I love serving and gain peace and assurance that we can do the work of the Savior on earth by helping those around us.
