Hi I'm Patti

I'm a wife, mother of 5 and grandmother of 7. I love interpreting for my deaf friends and teaching sign and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi I'm Patti. I'm a wife, mother, grandmother and a Realtor. I love to travel, cook, sew, garden, hike and I'm a lifetime learner. I'm avid about personal fitness. I love to do genealogy and sign for the deaf. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was about 12 years old I remember laying in my bed and asking the Lord to show me what was truth. I grew up in difficult family circumstances and was searching for something in life to give me reason and purpose to live. At 13 I was placed in my first foster home. I was without hope and felt life wasn't worth living when the church was introduced to me. The missionaries taught me and asked me to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true. I had little religious background. I remember going on my knees by my bed and asking if it were true. I will always remember the overwhelming confirmation I felt. I had never had an answer to prayer and felt so blessed. I can never deny that God spoke directly to me. I knew it was true and if the Book of Mormon was true then everything else they were telling me was true. It changed the direction of my life forever. It was very hard to change bad habits and many of the things I had been exposed to growing up. Going through my teens was made much easier because I had goals and standards that many did not. I began to excel in many areas and heal from the difficulties of my youth. God led me to a good man whom I married in the temple for eternity. We have weathered many storms together and grown more in love for 36 years and look forward to many more. I feel raising our 5 children in the church has blessed their lives and the lives of my grandchildren. I feel I've changed the course of my family and gave them much more than I ever received. When we adopted a little girl from an orphanage in Mexico she became ours forever through the sealing ordinances of the temple. I've felt the tender mercies of the Lord daily in my life as I've sought to live in accordance with His teachings.

How I live my faith

I have had opportunities to actively serve others through teaching all age groups in my church since I was 15. Presently I teach classes for the women of the church. In the last 11 years I have learned sign language and sign for several deaf at different meetinghouses. What a blessing this has been in my life. For several years I was responsible for organizing all activities and events held for our church. I worked in the scouting program and all 3 of my sons are eagle scouts. I try to be a good neighbor and friend to all. I do my best to live the principles and precepts taught by our Savior. I've had the opportunity to work in many humanitarian aid projects to help those in difficult circumstances. I've made burial clothing for newborns that die. I've made meals for the homeless. I've gathered things for our servicemen and women to be sent. Meals for sick and new mothers, visiting the elderly. There are so many opportunities to serve. Great blessing have come into my life through service to others.
