Hi I'm Lynda

Hi. My name is Lynda. I am a wife, a mother of six, and have been a cosmetologist for over twenty-five years. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern California in a large family with two brothers and two sisters, one of whom is my identical twin sister. We grew up in the church with loving parents who taught us the gospel. Sometimes when you have so many blessings around you, you don't always know how lucky you are. When I was 21years old I fell away from the church and strayed. After many years of hardship and a divorce, I realized the one thing that was missing in my life was the Lord and the fullness of the Gospel. So after 10 years away from the church, I returned to full activity. After finding my sweet and dear husband Charles, we decided together to seek the blessings and the love that the Savior has for everyone. We began attending church together and, a year later, went on to receive the blessings in the temple

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know with all my heart that This is the true church here upon the earth, that Jesus is my Lord and Savior and he knows me and loves me .I knew all my life there has never been a time when I thought it was not true. I hold my testimony dear to my heart it is sacred to me and I consider it to be the more important thing I own. No one can take it from me and it is up to me to keep it alive, but I can tell you this nothing is more important in my life that my relationship with my Father in Heaven. He does here me when I pray and I feel of his love. I am so thankful for being one of his daughters to come to earth and testify of him and the truth and light that he gives to me. I want to share the gospel with everyone I meet and I want them to have the true joy that only comes through Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

How I live my Faith, I meet people all day long with my job and I am always looking for the opportunity to share some kind of gospel principle with then, I know that there are a lot of lost people out there and i try to help people any way I can by showing Christ like love, by lending a helping hand and talking with those who want to know what makes me so happy all the time. I live my faith by praying with my children, by reading my scriptures and being honest. I live my faith every minute of every day and sometimes I don't get it right, but I repent and try again. Going to church on Sunday really helps me to live my faith. kind of like filling up a bucket with spiritual water and it can last me all week. I want to be better that’s why I go to church, I am never going to be perfect but I will die trying.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Lynda
The principle of tithing, or voluntarily giving one tenth of one’s income to God’s work, has been known since Old Testament times. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14:17-20).The law of tithing is how the Lord funds His Church. Today all faithful members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contribute one tenth of their income as tithing. Tithing funds are used for: ■Constructing temples, chapels, and other buildings. ■Providing operating funds for the Church. ■Funding the missionary program (This does not include individual missionary expenses.) ■Preparing materials used in Church classes and organizations. ■Temple work, family history, and many other important Church functions. ■Education. When the Lord reminded His people of this law through the prophet Malachi in the Old Testament, He promised to bless those who were willing to pay an honest tithe (Malachi 3:10). I am paying my tithing because I see the blessings this commandment brings me. My family has always been able to handle anything that happens to us, and i know the Lord is blessing us for paying our tithing. Show more Show less
