Hi I'm Alma

I was born in Hawaii, raised in Arizona. After graduate school in Chicago, Illinois I return to practice in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to the love of my life for 10 years. We both work in the medical field, which moved our family from Arizona to Illinois and back again. She works with babies, I work with eyes. I love spending time with my family. I love to travel and visit historical sites. I love eating whatever and where ever I get to travel. I like working out, playing video games, playing volleyball, and drawing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Christ centered home. Both of my parents were baptized and actively attending the Mormon church. I was taught to believe in a loving Heavenly Father. He had designed a plan for us in this life to live in such a way to deserve a place with him after this life. Heavenly Father sent his son, Jesus Christ, as a perfect example for us to follow how to live. In order for the plan to work, Heavenly Father knew we would need more than an example. He knew we would sin and therefore need a savior. Jesus Christ was sent to be that savior, our redeemer. As I grew older and more independent, I found out for myself that I was happiest when I followed the teachings I grew up with, and felt closer to God and Jesus Christ when I prayed and read the scriptures. My understanding and testimony grew as I sought out for myself what Heavenly Father wanted me to do in my life. As an Adult, I continue to live by the teachings that I grew up because I know they are true. I have received my own testimony from God through the Holy Ghost. I live what I learned and continue to learn because it's crucial for my own happiness and chance to live with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

At church, I serve in a presidency over adult men. The organization helps build gospel knowledge, faith, and leadership. This organization also provides service opportunities for its members to participate in assisting with temporal and spiritual needs within the group and local community. We meet weekly on Sundays and sometimes throughout the week for sport activities, campouts, and service projects. I enjoy church meetings because of the spiritual strength I receive by reading and studying the scriptures, singing, and hearing others experiences and thoughts on living the gospel. It helps me keep an eternal perspective on where I need to be, and what I need to be doing in order to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. I also enjoy the social aspect of church. I know when I am there, that I am amongst friends. I know that each person there, however imperfect, is striving for a similar goal and is willing to help me. I have met my dearest friends at church. At home, I share the responsibility of faith with my wife. We try to read and study the scriptures together daily. Pray together and prepare for church activities. Each week we set aside a night to pray, sing, study the scriptures together, and to plan for coming events.
