Hi I'm Gail

I grew up in Las Vegas. I joined the church when I was 18. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church and was the first in my family to join. I met my husband in College and we have been married for 14 years. I am a stay at home Mom of three children. Our oldest is 9 and our youngest is 4. We struggled with infirtility, so these children are truly our miracles. I love having a family! I enjoy working out, keeping up to date on our family albums, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was young we didn't attend church except briefly for a year when we lived in North Carolina close to my father's family. The church we attended made me feel uncomfortable. When I was a freshman in High School I had this idea in my head of me walking into a church with my family. I could see my husband opening the door for me and my children into a building and then the door closing behind us. I knew that when I got married that I wanted to attend church with my husband and our children. I wasn't sure how that was going to happen since we didn't attend church anymore. Then later the next year I met and starting dating a member. I became very close to his family since my family had just moved to another state. I started spending a lot of time at their house and happened to be over for dinner one evening when the missionaries were there. They asked me if I would like to start taking the discussions and I said yes. We met each week and everything that they taught me made perfect sense to me. Later while reading in the Joseph Smith History in the Book of Mormon I gained a testimoy of Joseph Smith and knew that joining the church was the right choice. I was so scared to tell my parents. Out of respect I waited until I was 18 to be baptized. They were very supportive and have since joined as well. I can't imagine where I would be without the Gospel in my life. The Gospel gives my life purpose and meaning and hope. Knowing that I am a child of God changes everything. Knowing that I can pray to my Father in Heaven is such a strength to me. Without this knowledge I would be so lost.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church! I currently serve with the youth in our ward. Since I joined the church later in my life, I feel so grateful to be able to be a part of the youth programs that I never got to experience at a young age. But more than that, the Gospel effects every choice I make on a daily basis where ever I may be and I love that. I often look at my children and think how lucky they are to be growing up with the standards of the church to help them. I also enjoy serving the sisters in our ward as well. I love being able to check in on them and help them when needed.
