Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a wife, the mother of four, and an amateur baker. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up I first wanted to be a wife and a mother. Now I have a wonderful husband who treats me like a queen and four beautiful children whom I adore. Now that I have accomplished my original goals I plan on getting my schooling as soon as I can so that I can become a professional baker. My husband made us a hearth oven and we use it to have pizza parties with friends and family. I also bake loaves of artisan bread that I find myself craving when we haven't baked any in a while. I also love making personalized t-shirts and baby towels on my embroidery sewing machine for family and friends. I basically like trying new things. Sushi is my favorite food but since I found out two years ago that i have food allergies I can't have it very often.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, my parents were converts, my dad grew up in the Baptist faith, my mom in the Catholic. Both their families were strong in their beliefs. After they were married my parents moved to Germany as my dad was in the Army and he was stationed there. While there one of my dad's Army superiors befriended him and helped to introduce him and my mom to the gospel. My parents life before the gospel was full of drug use, drinking, and constant partying. After they joined the church, and gave up that lifestyle, they lost all their friends. That was hard for them but they made new ones who understood their choice to change. That was over thirty years ago and my father and mother still love and serve the church that taught them about the restored gospel and helped them to strengthen their family. Today I am a Mormon not because my parents are, but because i know that this is where i can find the truth about where i came from, what my purpose is here on the earth, and where I will go once I die. One thing I know is that I don't have to make life decisions alone. I know my Heavenly Father speaks to me through the power of the Holy Ghost and leads me in the right paths i should follow. Continuing revelation is real. Heavenly Father speaks to us today. We are not forsaken. We have the gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth today and this is right where i want to be.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Young Women organization in our church. I work with all the girls, but specifically with the 14-15-year-olds. One thing i really enjoy about church service is that you are always asked to serve in a way that will challenge you. I have learned so much through both being in and leading the activities committees in two different congregations where we have lived. The greatest thing about church service is that Heavenly Father helps me all along the way. I know I can do what has been asked of me because I know that Heavenly Father wouldn't ask more of me than I am capable of giving, and I also know he will be giving me the strength and knowledge I need all along the way as well. This church asks a lot of its members at a time when it is unpopular to do so. I don't want to belong to a church that expects nothing from me except to show up. I know I am going somewhere through my membership in the church.
