Hi I'm Coleen

I 'm a Mother. I LOVE enjoying the outdoors with my family. I'm a runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother to 6 delightful children. I love spending time with them and learning with them! They are my "jewels" and the reason why I do a lot of what I do. As a family, we enjoy spending time outside as much as we can! We often visit lakes and other state parks in our area and enjoy some of the most beautiful creations on the earth! I also love getting outside to run. I enjoy running for exercise and also like to compare how running in a race is like life. Just like a marathon, the road of life may seem long and hard. There also will be some hills. But if we stay committed to it, the finish line will be worth every effort and all the pain experienced to get there. We also need friends to cheer us on or sometimes run along side us to make it. As a family, we faced a steep uphill climb in our lives last year when we lost our home and belongings to a devastating house fire. We made it because friends in our community cheered us, supported us, and even some ran along side us for which we will forever be greatful!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a personal testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel! I know that God the Father lives! I also know that His Son, Jesus Christ came to the earth to atone for my sins and the sins of the world. I don't completely understand how the atonement works but I know it works. My desires are to live and learn to be like Him and to teach my children who He is so that they also know where they can look for a remission of their sins. I am greatful for a living prophet and apostles on the earth today, from whom I seek guidance, direction, and answers to my daily problems. I know the scriptures are true! My heart delights in them and I enjoy likening them to my life today. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, called to do a most important work. I am thankful that he sacrificed so much to translate and bring forth the Book of Mormon which contains the word of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my family and friends. I love working with and teaching children ages 18months -11years old at church each Sunday. I also love serving in the Cub Scout program. I feel honored to be involved with such amazing children. Often they end up teaching me more than I teach them.
