Hi I'm Chelsea

I'm a critical care nurse, a wife, a mother, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of 5 in the Western United States. I was raised in a simple home surrounded by horse fields and dairy farms. Growing up, I loved singing, art, and anything creative. I sang in choirs and took private vocal instruction throughout junior high and high school. My initial idea for college was to pursue a degree in vocal performance. That idea took a bit of a turn when I opted to obtain a degree in Nursing. I wanted to do something that would help others-something that would challenge me and be fulfilling at the end of the day. Being a registered nurse does just that. I work in Critical Care. I love to be in the thick of things and to bring some order and comfort amidst the chaos. I am married to one very tall man-he's my best friend and the love of my life! Together, we have a chubby little boy that lights up our lives. We certainly don't have it all together, but we are happy. We have the gospel and we love life! I love to be a mother, a nurse, a social butterfly, a shopper, a journal-writer, a reader, and a sushi eater.

Why I am a Mormon

I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know, for myself, that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know these things of myself because of study of the scriptures, prayer, and experiences of life along the way. I have seen and felt that God truly does care for me as He does each of His children across the world. When I am paying attention, I see that the hand of the Lord is in my life each day, guiding me, protecting me, teaching me, and blessing me. I know that all I have been blessed with in this life comes from Him. I am a Mormon because the gospel gives me purpose and direction in this life. Understanding these things helps me to feel of worth and to make good use of my time and to choose the right. I am a Mormon because it's HAPPY. I am a child of God. I have a Savior, Jesus Christ who lives and loves me too. I have the guidance to know what to do in these days by a living Prophet called of God. I know that families can be together forever. I know that there is life after death and peace in this world and further joy and peace in the world to come. I know that I have a purpose and can achieve many great things with the help of my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by simple means. I live my faith in my personal life through study of the scriptures and prayer to my Heavenly Father. I live my faith in my family by keeping the spirit in our home through peaceful interactions, family prayer and scriptures, and spending time together. I live my faith in my ward by reaching out to others to serve and to love and by serving in my calling as the young women president for girls ages 12-18 years. These young women are phenomenal! I feel so blessed to be a part of their lives and to help encourage and teach them about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I live my faith in my community and in the work place by being an example of Jesus Christ and by loving and serving others from all walks and faiths of life. I strive to share the gospel in example, in word, in deed, and in conversation. I know that I am a witness of Christ and with that knowledge comes responsibility. I don't have it all perfected yet, but I strive daily to become more like my Savior and to look outward and reach out to those in need. I know that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all who strive to follow Him and live their faith consistently and sincerely.
