Hi I'm Chris

I am a native Arizonan. I have a lovely wife and six children. I am a steel estimator. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Arizona all my life. My mother emigrated from Europe to marry my father so I learned of her culture and language which is Swiss/French. My wife and I have six children and fourteen grandchildren with two more on the way. Thiey are the center of our lives and give us great peace and happiness. I work in construction as an estimator for a steel subcontractor. I never thought I would do this for a living but I have found that we are given talents that will allow us to make a living and support our needs. I like to read and walk. My real hobby is people. Every person has a story and it is fascinating to hear those stories and learn of other's lives, experiences, and desires.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I gained my testimony through seeing my parents live their religion. Hearing the stories of my mother's and her mother's conversion. Also, in hearing the stories of my father's ancestors who were of a Christian sect that suffered at the hands of the religious majority of their country t through the centuries and yet remained faithful to what they believed. They joined the church in the 1850's and left all to start a new life with other members in the Western part of what is now the United States. My father served a 2 1/2 year church mission to the french speaking countries in Europe. My brothers served in other locations, also. I served, too, in France for two years. This is where I gained a greater assurance that what I had was the true gospel of Christ. Through my experiences then and since, I have felt the guidance and care of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. Though I have had challenges and personal adversity I have been guided and helped not only by Diety but also by those good people of all faiths and persuasions that live to serve and help others. I am thankful for them and for my Heavanly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live as close to a Christ-like life as possible. That may seem impossible but per the scriptures that is what the Savior asks us to do. We show that faith by serving and loving others. Besides a 2 year full time mission I have served in many callings with the youth and adults. Among my church callings, I have served as a teacher, as a youth leader in the Boy Scouts of America, and in leadership for all adults. I have served as a leader of a young single adult unit (ages 18 to 30). I currently serve as the Ward Mission Leader, in which I lead the efforts of our members in our unit in missionary work and strengthening of current church members. As we are to be our brother's keeper, I am assigned to several families as a home teacher. We visit these families at least monthly and assist them in their lives as needed. This brings great blessings to me as I have obtained many good friends as I have fulfileed this calling. As I said people are my hobby and my greatest interest. I have been greatly blessed as I have gotten outside myself and have reached out and have served others. This is the greatest blessing of the gospel to love and to serve family, friends, and others.
