Hi I'm Witt

I was raised on a Cattle Ranch in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family has been in the cattle business in Arizona for several generations. Even though I grew up as a cowboy many of my friends didn't know what I did. After I would milk the cows and feed the animals I would shower and put on my tennis shoes and head off to school. I was very involved in school, was on the football team, ran track, and was involved in Student Council. At the same time I loved working on the ranch especially working with horses. I loved being a cowboy but it wasn't the cool thing to be so I didn't talk about it much. I later realized that most people were interested in the fact that I was a cowboy. I was playing in a softball game one day and the cutest girl ever came up to me and asked, "Do you have cows?" Well the answer was yes and we have been happily married for 28 years. I still wear tennis shoes to work but I am more open with the fact that I am a cowboy. Everyone knows I love horses and that I wear boots and a hat on most weekends. I am proud to be a cowboy and proud to be a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Not only am I a 5th generation cattle rancher but I am also a 6th generation member of the Mormon Church. I am happy to know that my family was a part of restoring Gods church back on earth. This church has given me meaning and purpose in my life. It has helped me know who I am and why I am here. Most importantly it has helped me know who God is and to know that He loves and cares about me and loves and cares about all of us. Being a member of this church has not made my life easy. I have had many tough times and the things that this church teaches has helped me through those hard times. I can't imagine going through those times without the knowledge I have received from being a member of this church. I am so happy to be a Mormon and plan on spending the rest of my life living by its teachings. It has brought peace and happiness to me and my family.

How I live my faith

I go day to day doing the best I can to live like my Father in Heaven wants me to. I try to make good choices and treat everyone with love and kindness. Sometimes I make mistakes or have bad days and I know when I have done something wrong I just feel bad inside. I pray for the strength to overcome those mistakes and make things better. I spend as much time as I can studying the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ and do my best to live by them. I find that when I do good things and serve and help others I feel better. It takes effort, it does not make my life easy, but being a Mormon certainly makes my life Happy.
