Hi I'm Jillian

I'm a Texan student pursuing a career in public relations. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a proud Texan with a family full of vivacious red heads, and I love life. Right now I am in DC doing an internship for the LDS Public and International Affairs; I recently finished my third year at BYU-Idaho studying public relations. I love being outside exploring and having adventures. I'm also a bit of a neat freak, and I love cooking for people. I can appreciate my personal time for reflection and peace, but I prefer to be out with people having fun, working together, or discussing uplifting and interesting things. I really enjoy public speaking in small or large groups, and I am so excited to serve a full time mission for the Church next year. Several of my family members have served missions, and now it's my turn. After my mission I will have one semester left, then I will graduate and hopefully marry so I can start my eternal family. I plan to use my school and career experience to work from home so I can focus on my children. I hope my passion for life, and how central the gospel is to it, is not only evident to others, but inspires them as much as I am uplifted by an infectious smile from others.

Why I am a Mormon

Saying I am a Mormon is like saying I am a human being, or I am a redhead. It's just who I am. It isn't something I put on or a title, it is me living my life according to the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm not only a member of a church, I am a daughter of the most high God who has taken the name of His Son upon me. I am who I am, I am becoming the best Jillian I can, for Him because I love Him. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the organization that Christ has given His children to live by- with all of the correct principles and ordinances- to return to Him. I am led by revelation, prophets, and apostles and the truth of it is most evident in the happiness, peace, and confirmation of the spirit I receive. Almost anyone who knows me, knows that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They see my bubbly personality, confidence, and happiness, and they know it is because I know that Jesus Christ lives and that He is guiding His children to come back to Him. I have read the Book of Mormon several times; I've never read or felt anything more true, than the words of prophets testifying of the Savior and the history of people who come to Christ and find new life. That is why I want to put all else aside and serve a mission to teach people about the pure joy and truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I've seen it change lives. I want others to feel the beauty and simplicity that comes with the freedom and truth of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior and am so grateful for His hand in my life.

How I live my faith

I try live my faith in my every day actions. I don't want my testimony to only be words, I want others to see it in my smile, in my service and acts of kindness, and in how I live my life. I want to be the best representative of Jesus Christ that I can. I serve in the church by enthusiastically doing anything I've been asked to do to help. I also go and visit others in the church to make sure they are well and to strengthen the support net of brother/sisterhood we have. I love to teach and share my testimony, and I especially love answering any questions anyone has about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
