Hi I'm Roslyn B.

I am a stay at home mom that enjoys reading, scrapbooking and doing family history work and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom with four teenagers. I love to read, do scrapbooking and family history work, and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the L.D.S. religion. I was born and raised in Utah. I grew up going to church every week, reading the scriptures, and going to church activities. I loved growing up in an L.D.S. community where many of our friends and neighbors were also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Now that our family lives in Michigan, where there are not a lot of mormons, it has made me appreciate even more growing up in an L.D.S community. I miss living in an area where most people have the same morals and values as I do. When I was 16 years old I had a seminary teacher that encouraged each of us to read the scriptures for 30 minutes everday, and to pray before and after we read. I began doing this. Each night I would pray to know if what I was reading was true. After several months of this I was getting discouraged, because I didn't feel that I was receiving an answer. I was about to give up when I felt impressed to begin reading the Book of Mormon over again, starting with 1 Nephi chapter 1. As I began reading the Spirit immediately entered the room. It was a very loving, peaceful and yet very powerful feeling that I didn't want to leave. The Holy Ghost bore witness to me at that time that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church. This was an amazing experience for me, and one that I will never forget.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always trying to be a good example to others. I read my scriptures everyday. I go to church each week and I always try to fulfill my callings to the best of my ability. I believe that family is the most important part of the gospel plan. our family enjoys having family home evening together each Monday night. We enjoy listening and learning from each other, and than playing games together afterwards. Our family enjoys going to the temple together to do baptisms for our deceased ancestors. This is something that we try to do about every three months. The temple always has such a peaceful feeling that personally I love going there so that I can feel the Spirit, and I want to share that with my children as often as possible. I love to do family history work. I enjoy researching my ancestors and helping to do their temple work for them, so that they can enjoy the blessings of the temple and the blessings that come from being an eternal family.
