Hi I'm Michael

Why I'm a Mormon. Following the teachings of the Church I feel the spirit and I believe this to be the true Church of Jesus Christ

About Me

I'm very curious and I love adventure, either or both intellectual and physical. So when I get interested in something, I can become extremely focused on it, sometimes to the exclusion of all around me. I pursue my interests thoroughly, too, often with originality and exactitude. I'm adaptable, competitive and a problem-solver, as well as skeptical, tough minded and determined. Because I have a lot of energy and tend to be enthusiastic about my theories and projects, I can be very persuasive. I'm eager to make an impact on those around me, too, as well as in the wider world. I'm irreverent and highly independent. So I can be oblivious to authority figures, as well as to rules, schedules and social customs. And although I enjoy people and can be charming and humorous, I'm not interested in routine social engagements or anyone whom you regard as boring. Instead, I seek stimulating and focused conversations, and I'm comfortable being by myself, pursuing my many interests. I love Sky Diving, Water Skiing, Hiking in the mountains, camping, and driving my sand rail in sand dunes.I really enjoy taking people to the visitor center it is an amazing place. I take great pleasure in serving others, and helping the Church in my callings. I continually strive to share the things I've mastered, and perfect the things I have not.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a spiritual person and from a young age felt I had a destiny. I was not raised in a religious family but we did believe in God. My mother was a very spiritual person more so than my father. They raised me right with truth, honesty, integrity, and good old family values, they were the best, they were good people, and all that new them loved them. As I grew older there were times in my life my mother would say to me maybe you should join a Church well I would reply, why life is good I now he watches over me and felt the many blessings that he had given me. It wasn't until I was 45 that I had attended Church, and it was the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. The Bishop of this Church was truly amazing a very kind and caring man, before I even meet with the missionary's I had met with him one night of the week for several weeks just talking and answering some questions about the Church, then finally for the first time he asked if I would like to join in on Sundays service. This was a small Ward compared to others, and you could tell that the people here had known each other for awhile, and like a stadium full of fans there was that energy, except this was of a quiet kind. At that point I had decided to investigate further so I meet with the missionary's for about two months, and during that time I begain feeling more comfortable as I grew a closer relationship to our savior, and I felt the power of the book of Mormon. That was five years ago on Aug. 5 2006 when I was Baptized, and its been every thing the Bishop said it would be and more. Now I have become a more Temporal as well as a spiritual person, I believe these are two very important qualities we all should strive to have in our lives. Why I am a Mormon, I believe this to be the true church of Jesus Christ. I believe in the atonement he has created, I believe in Josephs Smith, and Thomas Monson being Prophets, and i believe in all the members when they bare there testimonies.

How I live my faith

As a member of this Church I have come to understand that I live my faith by being the best person I can be and with prayer every day, studding my scriptures and obedience. By serving others, and keeping Gods commandments faithfully. By participating in my Ward as a Ward Missionary, as a Melchizedek Priest, second counselor for the Elders Quorum, helping with service work for others, and staying Temple Worthy helps strengthen how I live my Faith, On the Lords side of the line.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

It came through a revelation from the Almighty. That gaining a testimony is a very good starting point for a Latter Day Saint, and it is something that every person, who has any ambition at all to advance in his path, will need at some time or other. It is the foundation upon which we have placed our faith, it is the knowledge that our Heavenly Father lives and loves us; that Jesus Christ lives, that he is the son of God, and that he carried out the infinite Atonement; Show more Show less
