Hi I'm Mike

I was born in England. I am currently living in Australia. I am a lawyer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied history at university and then decided to convert my degree into a law degree. I have a training contract at an English firm starting in 2012 and so in the meantime I have decided to come to Australia and experience living in a different country. I am single but would like to be married and have a family. I am an avid supporter of Manchester United, I love watching movies and enjoy socializing with friends. My favorite sports are football (soccer) and skiing.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a member of the LDS Church because it is the only way that provides a higher, happier way of living. When I abide by the precepts of the Church, I have peace. When I do not, I feel inner turmoil and distance from my true potential. About 2 months ago I received a witness from the Holy Spirit that this church was true. This spiritual experience contradicted all the worldly teachings of academia and flies in the face of what I thought I knew about science, creationism and evolution. I know that Heavenly Father sent his Spirit to communicate with me at a critical time in my life and He saved me. What's more, I now realize that He had being trying to communicate with me for a long time through subtle promptings of the Spirit but I had ignored them. I now no longer ignore them and I am a thousand times happier as I know that by following the Spirit I am following the Lord's plan for my life.

How I live my faith

In England I was a Young Men's leader in the Church. However, in Brisbane I am a home teacher and I visit various members of the church throughout the month and share a brief message with them. This is a chance to build friendships. I read the scriptures everyday as by doing so I am inexplicably blessed and spiritually uplifted. I try and stay as close as I can to the teachings of the church as when I do I am happier.
