Hi I'm Carolyn

I love the JOY of life. I believe in the beauty of dreams. Through design I make the impossible come to life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Life is a time to find JOY. I am an individual that enjoys the simple things in life. May that be a picnic in the park or watching wheat blowing in a field. The greatest happiness in my life has come when I have had the opportunities to serve others. I was able to serve a full time mission in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I learned beautiful life lessons. How grateful I am for people! All types. We are all so diverse and unique. I am a graduate in Graphic Design. I love to sing. And I love to cook, which also means...eat! I am an optimist and old fashioned. Give me a good Jane Austen movie and some chocolate and I'll be happy as can be. Never is there a moment where one cannot find something to smile at and be thankful for. I have found that a good laugh and positive attitude can make all the difference in life. "Men are that they might find joy." So, sniff out the joy trail!

Why I am a Mormon

Why, is a thought invoking question. Why would I NOT be a mormon? That is the question I ask. When I think of the blessings that flow from the everlasting gospel there is no power on earth that could make me give them up. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has all truths, it has the ability to remind us who we are and to live up to that potential, it brings happiness that is eternal, it provides standards that are timeless, it allows for growth, agency and freedom. As I weigh the options of my life without the gospel they are bleak and empty. I am a member of this church because it is the key to eternal life and happiness. I know that there is a living prophet on the Earth today. That revelation continues forth. I know the scriptures are living and that the Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible are the word of God. Great peace enters my soul as I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me. The Gospel is true and the greatest of all blessings in this world. The straight and narrow way to follow the Savior Jesus Christ is found in His Gospel. Just as He called to His disciples to, "Come follow me," He calls us today. As one lives the teachings of this faith, one becomes more like the Savior and follows in His ways. I follow this gospel for it allows me to soar to heights I never thought possible. Just as a kite needs the steadiness of a good string we need a stalwart and constant faith that can provide the stability necessary to reach higher. I love the feelings I get as I follow the teachings of this faith. They leave me wanting more. I know that our Heavenly Father lives. He sent His only Begotten that we might live again. The Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for each of us individual. He lives and guides this church. I know that the gospel was restored and that we benefit from its fruits daily.

How I live my faith

Faith should be lived daily. At every moment it should be evident; the things that we believe in and stand for. My faith is lived in the entertainment I choose to take part in. The clothing that I wear. How I spend my leisure time. The language I choose to use. My faith provides a beacon of light for me to be guided through the dark mists that sometimes cloud a human life in this world. Active faith never becomes stagnant. In the church opportunities for service, teaching and learning are endless. For the way we live our lives reflects a great deal upon our beliefs and aspirations. I love the chances I am given to study and learn. My faith is lived daily. Minute by minute the choices that we make reflect upon our faith and desire to follow God. How do you live your faith? Look at your day and you'll know. I am so grateful for the structure of the church, it allows for growth and change. I know that just as the parable of the Ten Virgins, we must continually add oil to our lamps that we might be prepared for His coming. Drip by drip the oil we add lightens our way. Some of my favorite "drips" into my spiritual lamp occur with family. When we serve and love in our own homes, peace enters into our lives. Another wonderful chance to live our faith is through service. When we lose our lives we find it. I know that as we live more like the Savior and love our fellow men our faith is strengthened and we are happier now and forever.
