Hi I'm Danny Mendez

I'm a Mormon. Plain and simple. I'm a third generation mormon and love it. The gospel of Jesus Christ has helped direct me in life

About Me

My name is Danny and have been called to serve a mission in the Brazil Teresina Mission. I grew up in a large family, five of us in total. I love family history, basketball, and published my first book at the age of 19. I'm currently studying in college and my major is Public Administration.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up life had become difficult, even though I am a third generation Mormon. We all still go through our tests, trials and temptations. My mother is a second-generation mormon, while my father was a catholic. My parents divorced when I was six years old, the gospel has blessed my life and the life of my family. At first I only went to church because I was forced, I did enjoy it, but sometimes did not want to go. Growing up in my teens, I became involved with people of bad influence and those who I thought were my friends we're really not. I never really knew for a fact if these things were true, until I turned 16 years old. I began to wonder if there is truth behind all this. I studied the Book of Mormon, meditated and prayed, having faith in the promise spoken of in Moroni 10:4. I received my witness at the age of 16 and from there my faith exploded in a very positive direction. I began to understand what our purpose in life truly is. God answers prayers. We live in a world where society teaches us otherwise. I have a strong testimony about this Gospel and how it blesses us. The world will say these things are not true, but they are, because I have received my witness and the experience is unique to each one of us. I bear my testimony that Jesus Christ lives and he is our savior and redeemer. It is through him that can become like him and follow him. It is through his infinite atonement that we are saved. The book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, its sole purpose is to testify of Christ and help us grow closer to our savior. Joseph Smith was called to be the prophet of the restoration and did see God the Father and the living Christ in that grove. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church on the Earth today, it holds the authority of God. We have a prophet today who guides God's children on the Earth. This is not a church of man, but it is Christ's church, he is at the head of this church. Families can be eternal.

How I live my faith

I start my day off with prayer and reading my scriptures. At first I did not understand how simple things can actually help you throughout the day until I made it a habit. I try to be the best I can be everyday, we are not perfect

Who was Joseph Smith?

Danny Mendez
Joseph grew in a humble home to good parents. He had the same question that I had and many others continue to have. How can I find God and where should I go to find him. He studied, prayed and ask God what he ought to do. God, the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph in the grove of trees and called him, though his faith, diligence and faithfulness, to be the prophet of the Restoration. I know he was a prophet because I have prayed about it and received my confirmation. God commanded Joseph to translate the Book of Mormon and this is evidence that he was a prophet.
