Hi I'm Kris

I grew up in the Philippines. Served my mission in the Phils. Naga Mission and San Diego California Mission.I'm a mormon

About Me

I am a member of a broken family, its been tough but i received strength from my Savior because of the Restored Gospel. I love music and everything that is related to it. i play the drums. i love to dance too. I'm learning wing chun (martial arts). i served my mission in the Philippines Naga Mission and the San Diego California Mission (2011-2013). Since my mission I love teaching people. i certainly love food and i mean any kind of food. i love travelling and doing sports. i love being a mormon. :)

Why I am a Mormon

i became a member of this church when my parents got baptized. but i didn't have a testimony of the church back then. it was way back august 19, 1999 when i got baptized. when my family went inactive, i too became inactive. but there came a time that a childhood friend of mine, who was a member invited me to attend a youth activity. during that activity, i felt the spirit of the Lord, it was a warm swelling feeling in my heart that my soul cried for repentance of my sins. i felt the love of my savior Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father. After that, i came back to Church and had been active ever since. i knew more of the plan of our Father in Heaven and what we should do. because of the truths and happiness that i felt , i wanted to share the gospel to the people around me , so i decided to serve as a full-time missionary for two full years.

How I live my faith

I served as a full-time missionary for two years in the Philippines Naga Mission and the San Diego California Mission. I love sharing things about the gospel. Before my mission, i use to help the youth in our ward in their activities, so i teach them dancing, and just bond with the youth. i love being around the youth especially when we have youth camps and we wake up early in the morning and open our scriptures and study them as a group. i just got released from being a full-time missionary, and am still waiting for a calling in the church.

What is the First Vision?

In 1820, a boy named Joseph Smith had a question in his heart, "which of all the Churches were right?" As he was reading the book of James in the Bible which read, "if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, the giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not: and it shall be given him." As he pondered what James said, he finally came to a decision to ask God. One spring morning, Joseph went to a grove of trees and prayed to God with the intent to learn which church he should join. As he prayed with all of his heart, something happened. Joseph wrote: "I saw a pillar of Light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me. When the light rested upon me, I saw two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake to me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other - This is my beloved Son. Hear Him!" Joseph was then told that he should join none of the churches as the priesthood authority and the church that Jesus Christ established on the earth when He was here was lost over the centuries. Because of the First Vision, God has once again called a prophet to restore what was lost, and it was through Joseph Smith. i know in my heart that this vision happened, for i have asked Heavenly Father and i have received an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost. I bear testimony that God indeed lives and Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and They love us. Show more Show less
