Hi I'm Elaine

Hi! My Name is Elaine and I am a Mormon! I grew up in the church but my real testimony came when I served my mission.

About Me

Hi! I am Elaine and I love music. Music has always been a part of me since I was really little. I started playing the piano when I was 6 years old and can play pretty much all the hymns and most all the primary songs. I am able to compose my own music and love doing so as I am able to express myself through the music that I create. I also have always loved to dance! Dancing is one of my favorite things to do although most people are more familiar with my music through playing the piano. I served a mission through the LDS church and have grown so much since then. I have been married for 9 years to a wonderful man. It was an interesting way we met and finally got married. Long story short we met in 3 different cities 3 seperate different times. I like to think 3rd times the charm. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS church and so the familiar things now around me are as common as they were when I was younger. However, that doesn't mean that I didn't have things that I needed to work on because I am not perfect as others in this world aren't whether you are LDS or not. I have always really had a testimony since I was young. However, I found that my testimony really grew when I served my mission. It was then that I soley had to rely on the Lord for answers. I was able to get letters from my parents (back then we didn't have the e-mail option) and from other friends but I was on my own to learn to testify what I had been taught through the spirit. I know that God lives and through the Atonement of Christ we are able to heal from our past mistakes and move forward. It is truly the best gift that I can ever receive from my Heavenly Father. The atonement is the one thing that keeps me going in what I truly believe. It doesn't matter what size you are, the color of skin that you have, or the clothes that you wear, nor does it matter how rich you are or how poor you are. You are a daughter/son of God. Nothing else matters. To truly testify of the Atonement would be to repent of the things that you know that you need to fix. The Atonement is not there to mock you or tell you that you can't be better than what you are because you can always come back. There is always a way back to your Heavenly Father. I know that if you chose to follow the path that is the right path for you that you will find that as you live righteously to the point you have no desire to sin...you have found the place you need to be. I know that as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that as you learn of our gospel you will find it to be the greatest joy you can ever receive. I hope that you will seek out that joy that your Heavenly Father wants you to find and know that he loves you very much. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to help others through service whether it is bring a meal to a family that is in need, clothes to those that have nothing, or even a call to talk to someone that needs a listening ear. I also dress modestly as I find it an important standard to have. I don't feel the need to flaunt my body to those around me as I feel that if I dress modestly they are more attracted to how I am and not my body or what it looks like. I also pray to my Heavenly Father on a daily basis as I feel that as I share my life with him that he is able to show my the way to live righteously and it helps me be in tune with the spirit. As I read the Book of Mormon, I have found so many things that are written to not only testify of the whole truth without any confusion but it completely relates to us in what is going on in today's current events. It is the only book that I have ever found that as you re-read it over and over again you find something new every time whether it was another story that you never saw before or a missing puzzle piece. Read it with the bible and you will know for a surety the truth in all things. These are just some of the things that I do. I do know that if you were to pick up a Book of Mormon today and start reading it from beginning to the end and you pray to know if it was a true book from God... I can testify to you that you will find an answer. Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For me, this goes for more than just one thing....it can relate to everything you chose to do.
