Hi I'm De Yo

A Fisher of Men in Quezon City North Mission. A Filipino. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I live in Basey, Samar, Philippines. I am studying Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Entrepreneurship and Accountancy. I like to read very often, play basketball, volleyball, badminton, chess and share time with good friends. I got baptized in the Church last November 7, 2009. It was the greatest and best decision I ever made. Presently I'm serving my mission in Philippines Quezon City North Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a convert and I'd love to be member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just because it helps and encourages me to be a better person everyday, and has given me a purpose to live, hoping for great blessings for my Family. As I told before I got Baptized only two years ago and I did it only beacuse I really received answers to my prayers and my testimony about the Savior keeps increasing... I Love all the Lord's teachings and His great Example. And I know perfectly that He's the only way to Come Back to Our Heavenly Father, Who is waiting for us.

How I live my faith

The Church is centered on Jesus Christ, our Savior, and He is my example in living my everyday life. He was a perfect being, and I know that I can be that, but I can try to be the best I can, and he will make up the rest for me as long as I remain worthy. I like to do things and surround myself with things and people that invite the Spirit to be around, and who hold high standards. I like to listen to clean music, and stay away from damaging and hurtful lyrics. I choose music that is wholesome and uplifting, and surround myself with media that meets the same standards. I choose not to use profanity or use language that it meant to be offensive. I try to serve everyone and anyone, since Christ did not discriminate. I uphold my covenants to be chaste, which means not becoming sexually involved until marriage. That means that I stay clear of pornography and situations that may lead to rash decisions. I live by the word of wisdom which declares that I will not drink coffee, tea, or alcohol, smoke tobacco, use any kind of illegal drugs, or use any substance that can become addictive. I observe Sunday as a sacred day and a Sabbath day. By this I mean that I do not work, shop, or go out on Sundays, but instead I use them to go to church, serve others, read my scriptures, and spend time with my family. Because I am a priesthood holder, I enjoy the ability to serve the Lord in doing ordinances like performing the sacrament prayers on Sundays. I like to serve the Lord, although it is not always easy, but it always worth it. I will never be as perfect as the Savior, but no one can be, but I try to be the best I can, and that is how I live my faith. In addition, I like to join missionaries to teach people and especially Families. I love the Church because I have found really true friends and has improved so much our family relationships.
