Hi I'm Monica

I'm an accountant, I'm single, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with 4 sisters, 3 brothers, and lots of pets. I went on a mission to Colorado and Wyoming then got an AAS degree in Accounting. I work as an accountant in the healthcare industry and really enjoy what I do. I am planning to go back to school to further my education and strengthen my future. Though I work with spreadsheets all day I love arts and crafts. My favorite hobby is painting. I like to paint watercolors or architecture or people. A few years ago I started traveling. My favorite place to travel to is Italy. I have been there twice and itch to go back. At 39, being single can be the pits but travel is a blessing I probably would not be able to enjoy otherwise.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the Mormon church. There comes a time though where everyone has to make their own choice. I am a Mormon because the gospel brings peace to my life. I don't have all the answers and don't expect to. What I do know is that I believe in Jesus Christ and living as our Heavenly Father has commanded us to. It isn't always easy but the best things never are. We all struggle and falter which makes us stronger and teaches us. I have read the Book of Mormon and believe it to be true. For me Believing in Christ and believing that the Book of Mormon is true is all I really need to know. Everything else falls into place for me and when I struggle it all goes back to that as my foundation. That may be overly simple for some people but it works for me. Everything else is just a step at a time. While I am far from perfect, I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to develop the characteristics that I need in order to become more like him and to better know my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

A few years ago I started volunteering in the community. I felt like I needed to so something to help others and focus more on others and less on me. It is amazing how small my problems seem when I am able to see what others are going through. Now, I get to organize humanitarian activities and and donations for my congregation. Serving others is a basic principle that Jesus taught us. It teaches us love and compassion which are so important and something that I have wanted to work on developing in my life. I have found that the more I learn about other people, the more I learn about myself and my Savior.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Monica
I would give anything to enjoy the blessings and challenges of marriage. Being a 39 year old Mormon woman that has never been married, I assure you that we do not practice polygamy. Show more Show less
