Hi I'm Richard

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to go to Arizona Diamondback games! I love baseball in general. Anything having to do with baseball I am up for! I also love to go fishing. It is always a challenge to find the lure or bait or fly that will catch fish the best. I go to Wyoming and Washington a lot for trout fishing and then I have a few places here that are pretty good bass fishing. It is the ultimate to be out in nature alone or with someone else fishing. It's peaceful and it gives me time to think. I love school and I love work. I work at a center for addicts and alcoholics who are trying to get off of those addictive substances. The people who come through there are some of the best people I have met in my life. The difficulties some of them have had in their lives are unbelievable and yet they work so hard for what they want. It really is a magical place! I also enjoy family time and spending time with people who help me be me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born LDS but as most members of any church I was not always committed fully to it. I have found simply that living the standards and lessons of this church have made my life better and better. It seems the more effort I give to his church the better each aspect of my life gets. I have had very personal experiences with what I have come to believe was God's spirit or "The Holy Ghost". These experiences are usually feelings of gratitude and love that seem to always come when I pray, attend church or read the scriptures. I think I can safely say that everything that means anything to me that I have in life was either given to me or made better by my membership in this church and the efforts I have put into it. The more I talk to people about my faith the more I see that the problems others have are originated from misconceptions or just lies about us and that the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints can help everyone. It really is not a secret what we believe or what we do as mormons. I thank God for his love and his Son Jesus Christ the key to our purpose here and to the kingdom of Heaven.

How I live my faith

Now that I think about it I spend a lot of time living my faith. I enjoy reading the scriptures daily. It is awesome to hear about the amazing stories of former prophets and leaders of his church anciently. I like to have a few sets of scriptures just to mark them differently. I spend a lot of time with the scriptures because they are my primary source of tapping into and building my relationship with God. Each of us as members have a responsibility and mine is to set up appointments to see the congregation leader named a Bishop. He is an awesome man who anyone can confide in and whenever we visit with him he seems to have a special way of helping us feel God's love. I also have a few members of our congregation who I visit each month to check up on them. This is so fun because they are all so awesome! I try to do at least one major thing in relation to the church each day to keep me moving in the direction I want to.
