Hi I'm David

I grew up working a farm in rural Idaho, I now work in construction and I am a single dad of three amazing children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three amazing children that are everything to me! I am a divorced dad. I have amazing family and friends. I like to build with my hands and I enjoy the outdoors. I love dogs, horses and motorcycles. I love to camp, fish, travel, etc. I enjoy learning new things and about new places. I have become fluent in Spanish over the years starting to learn as a teen. This have given me the opportunity to learn and experience what otherwise would have been impossible.

Why I am a Mormon

I had the blessing to be raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have amazing parents and siblings. Family has always been very important to me, it was ingrained in us as we watched and learned by our parents examples. Growing up I always enjoyed going to church and learning about Jesus Christ and His gospel and the Plan of Happiness that is laid out before us as part of the gospel. I will always be grateful for the truths and the faith that my parents have passed on to me, that I am able to now teach my children. I am Mormon because when life hits you hardest you always have the gospel to guide you and help you make right choices. Even in my darkest hours I have never been able to step away from the testimony I have that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He died for us on the cross and atoned for our sins and mistakes, only after suffering beyond understanding for our pains and our sufferings, that he might better understand each and every one of us. I am forever in debt to my Friend, my Brother, my Savior, my Lord, Jesus Christ. For Him I am ever grateful and forever indebted. I know He lives and I know He loves me and knows me personally.

How I live my faith

I work with the Cub Scouts Pack at our church and I am able to help teach the boys basic and important skills as they grow to be young men, what a wonderful opportunity, I have learned so much. My oldest son is one of my scouts. I am grateful for the activities the church supports for the teaching and growth of the youth. I attend church each week and try to find ways to help and serve others in the community around me on a regular basis. I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ by being kind and helpful to others. Some call it karma, some call it the golden rule, some don't know quite what to call it. I truly believe that what goes around comes around. If I plant enough good seeds around surely good will grow, maybe not every seed every time, but in the end I hope I can look back on my path and see that I have planted my share of good along the way.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

David
I know in my life that as I read the scriptures and study I feel happier and more prepared to handle the stresses of everyday life, both at work and as a father. Like anything it takes discipline to start a good habit. I find little treasures as I study the scriptures, that stay in my mind, that help me with my daily life and help me to focus on being a better father, brother, son, friend, and even a better employee at work.
