Hi I'm Tyson

I'm happily married and have five children, I'm a Financial planner, an outdoor enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful wife and five fantastic children. Every day is an adventure. We stay pretty busy with various sports, school, piano, scouts and more. :) Our family loves to spend time together and with friends. We like to travel, hike, play games and watch movies together. I enjoy my work and am a financial planner. I have done this now for 14 years. My three areas of focus are: Financial Planning, Investments and Life Insurance. I love food, and to balance that out, I enjoy exercise as well. When I have time, I like digging into a good book, fishing or on rare occasion sneaking in a nap.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon Church. I'm very grateful for this as it taught me the core values that Christians believe in such as: Believing in Christ, being kind to others, the importance of family, the love of God and of Country. I learned of the love that our Savior Jesus Christ has for us. That he died for me, and atoned for the sins of the world. I know that through him we can be forgiven of our sins, made clean and ultimately be saved. I'm grateful for the mormon belief that families can be together forever. Marriage is not, "till death do us part." I'm a mormon not just for my belief in Christ, but because of the truth that no other religion teaches that I can be with my wife and children for time and all eternity. My family brings me great joy, I can't imagine a true Heaven without them. Knowing that families can be together forever gives me more joy in this life and hope for the life to come. I'm grateful for and believe the Bible to be the word of God. I know that it contains the formula on how we can be happy in this life and the life to come. I also am grateful for another testament of Jesus Christ being The Book of Mormon. This is also an ancient record of Jesus Christ. It talks of Christ's dealings with the people on the ancient American Continent. This book has brought my family much joy and has strengthened our testimony in Jesus Christ. It confirms the truths of the Holy Bible. Although I was brought up Mormon, It was left up to me to find out if the things I had learned were true. Through study and prayer, I received answers and confirmation that what I had learned was true. Because of the joy and truths I've discovered I served a two year mission for our church from 1993-1995. This experience was one of the greatest experiences of my life topping both my college education and business accomplishments. The gospel has brought me much joy and for this I am eternally grateful. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

One of the ways I try to live my faith is by serving others. I do this by serving the youth in our church. Every week I set aside time assist with the character building of our youth. We plan faith promoting service activities designed to help them become better young men and women. I also serve in our community as a Unit Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America which also teaches our youth to uphold good Christian Principles while participating in fun/adventurous activities. On a personal level I strive to regularly attend church, read the scriptures, pray and participate with my family in wholesome activities. One thing I have found great value in that helps me and my family live our faith is to have what we call "Family Home Evening". Family Home Evening is held in our home every Monday night. Mondays evening are reserved for family time. Sometimes we do something fun together like: Swimming, bowling, or games. Other times we have a short family talk and lesson on a Christian Gospel Principle. I have found that my children love Monday nights where we can get to know one another better and grow closer to each other and to God.
