Hi I'm Danny

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Mesa, Arizona in the United States of America. I am an electrician by trade and love my occupation. I like working with my hands and being able to install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Instructional Design. I enjoy sports such as softball and basketball. I also like to cook outside with my solar oven which works great in this Arizona heat. I am also a heavy smoker, not the tobacco kind, but the beef, pork and chicken kind. I also make my own secret recipe BBQ sauce! I recently catered two lunches for nearly 200 people each and got lots of compliments. I have a wonderful family and enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren. Life has it's challenges, but I love facing them knowing that I am a child of God and he loves me dearly.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS Church all my life. I served a 2 year mission here in the United States of America. I met men and women of all different faiths. I have not found any religion that answers the questions about the origin of man and my relationship to God like I have found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that God is real and that he loves and knows me as an individual with my unique strengths and weaknesses. His only begotten son Jesus Christ is my elder brother who gave his life for me that I might return and live with my Father in Heaven some day. I am grateful for living Prophets on the earth today. God is no respecter of persons, he loves his children on the earth today just as much as he loved his children who live on the earth hundreds of years ago. His gospel has been restored to the earth in these latter days just as foretold in the New Testament. I love my savior Jesus Christ and do my best to be a faithful disciple of his teachings. I love reading the scriptures in the Bible, Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ, these and other scriptures bring me closer to God and his beloved Son. I am so thankful that I have been blessed to be a member of this Church.

How I live my faith

At work there is a tendency for some of my friends and co-workers to use language and tell jokes that are not in keeping with my Christian values. By standing up for what I believe they have learned not to tell inappropriate jokes. When they sometimes slip and use a few 4 letter words I usually get an apology. In this Church we are asked or "called" by the Bishop to serve in many different positions to help serve others in our local congregation (which is called a Ward) and community. This we do without monetary reward, but with many blessing of the joy that comes from being in the service of the Lord. I am currently the Young Men's Secretary in my Ward. This means assist other Adult Leaders in working with young men ages 12 to 18. We help them develop leadership skills, plan weekly activities to develop social skills, advance in the Boy Scouts of America, plan regular camp outs and summer high adventure activities. I really enjoy working with the youth and I think America is in pretty good hands from the youth I get to be around.
