Hi I'm Jade

I'm an Art major emphasising in illustration at BYU- I. I want to illustrate children's books or go into animation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large family. I have 5 brothers and 1 sister. I loved growing up in a mormon environment. There weren't many mormons my age at school, but the few that were there I grew close to. Living in an environment where the kids at my high school were not mormon, helped me to be an example to others and strengthen my own testimony. I loved water sports: I played waterpolo and swim in high school. One of my favorite experiences was travelling to Spain in the spring of my senior year in high school. I didn't have friends going, but I was able to make friends and stand as an example of my faith. I like to believe that the people I was with learned something about me and my religion over those 2 weeks. I am now going to school at BYU-Idaho, studying art with an emphasis in illustration. I want to write and illustrate books, especially children's books. Another thing that I wanted to do was to go into animation. I think that it would be awesome to do animation for different movies. I would love to work for a major film company like Disney, Dreamworks, or Pixar.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that doesn't mean I had to continue on that path. In High School, I realized how blessed I am to be a part of this church and loved living by it. I think that seminary really helped me to realize this. Even though I was learning at 6 in the morning every school day, (something some of my friends were suprised at) I loved being there! Being a Mormon brings me happiness and joy. I feel like I'm a happier person when I follow this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith so that others can see. I try to be an example wherever I am. In high school, I was a leader over the younger girls in church. I loved to help them in or out of church. One of my favorite things to do was service projects. This was a great opportunity to help others and share our faith. One of the biggest things that I think I can do to represent my faith is to dress modestly and to be careful in my words and deeds.
